Thank you!! I'm stoked on the car. Those who know me know that I go through a car a year for the most part ()=) Don't plan on getting rid of this one anytime soon. Pretty happy with it.

Likewise I quite enjoy this little car.

Two fingers all around. Played with the idea of putting the tires on the fenders (buying coil overs), but for some reason, I feel this wheel set up looks better with some gap

Added the Perrin crank pulley. WOW, it was easy! Noticeable difference. Nothing crazy, but very much like my intake tube and drop in. Car is a little more peppy now

I've wanted this for awhile, but have been holding off. I tend to wait on certain mods to see what else comes out. When looking at short throw shifters, Kartboy was a pretty easy choice for me. Especially since they are local!

Drove up to meet Tom today! Very nice guy! He answered a couple questions I had and I came home to tackle the job. This was a decent amount of work and I would plan on spending some time on it. Nothing is hard, there is just a lot to pull off!

Here you go:

All the goods

Oh, this is just the beginning

Everything from the center consol out. This was a little intimidating, not going to lie. I didn't expect to have to remove everything, but then again, I hadn't really researched how to do this until I got home with the shifter.

For those of you doing this, be careful of this boot. It ended up being a "casuality of war" and it was a PAIN to get off

Old one out!

And under the car I go to swap out the rear bushing

So far so good! Back up top, I got everything buttoned up. This will be the last time I see this little beauty for awhile

Almost done and discovered this! THIS IS NOT THE SHIFTER, it is 100% the knob. Sadly, the nut he uses to center the knob wouldn't work anymore.

Shot Tom a message and within a minute or two he suggested using something like a delrin washer or spacer. PERFECT! Quick trip to lows, and I had what I needed.

I had to shave just a hair off of it to get it perfect, but all is back to the way it started

My impressions:
WOW! Simply wow. Shifting is so much better! My favorite thing is that it makes the shifting experience precise and solid. Not sure how to describe it, but the shifter always felt a little "weak" to me, but I have always run MGW short throw shifters in my cobras. This fixed it for sure! Even if the throw was the same as stock, the solid feel alone would make this mod worth it.

I've been trying to stick with the "Must Have" mods on this car as I feel that it's pretty perfect, even in stock form. Blacked out headlights, red tail lights, rims and tires, suspension. IMHO, this is on that list as well.

I've said it a thousand times today through our interactions, but thank you again, @tom@kartboy

Feeler:

Playing with the idea of selling the car. It was in a minor fender bender today (see other thread). Bumper is going to be painted by someone who knows how to match, so it'll be better than factory, going to add some Toms taillights as well. Looking for $22k. I also have all the records for the car, including maintenance. Comes with all factory parts other than rims. Just under 20k miles. Mods on first page

Well chin up. Just saw your accident thread. Honestly that's fairly minor overall IMO of course. A quality body shop can indeed match, there are like 6-8 whiteout color match cards for professional Du Pont dealers and autobody shops should be able to perfectly match it. In our group there's all colors and many wrecks and I've seen a few whiteouts get repaired and look 100% perfect. Up to you of course if inside you want a different car mainly I dunno. Either way be a shame to lose a good member here on the forums to the curse. :-(
