Great write up, I used this last night. I did notice, however, that you have the tail light and brake light power wires reversed in the write up. I only wanted to hook up as a fog light and not as a brake light, I was a little weary about cutting through the reflector, and attached my power to the green cable as stated. This added brake light functionality instead of fog light. I don't know if the BRZ is different from the FR-S, I would assume not but you never know. It was a simple fix but I just wanted to put that out there in case anyone wanted to only do fog lights. Zilla, thanks for the great step by step though!

The 8th picture where things are soldered. Look in the background. You'll see more wires with white tape. Disconnect them from the light and you will get more room. Take the tape off of them and you will find a place where you don't have to splice the wires. A place where 3 wires where joined together. One set of these wires is positive and one negative. You could attach both there or one to the positive and one to the ground, I soldered both of mine. Use your multi meter to figure out which one is positive. A hell of a lot easier. Then re-tape when you are done. No splicing or stripping=no fuss.

Just to confirm, the yellow "light bulb" the (positive) is going to the Green or Red wire on the bottom of the picture (2) and the other wire from the bulb (negative) is to be attached to the area on the top (1)? Also how do we do the attachment to the "ground"? Thanks |

For the ground you need to crimp/solder an eyelet onto the wire you are using for a ground remove the bolt and add the eyelet to that group of existing ones. As for the positive, are you doing a fog light or a brake light? Or both?

I'm gonna make this easy. This is the picture from page 1 of this write up. The red is tail light green is brake light(at least they were on my car). You want to tap in at this socket, the one going to the back of the light itself. Easiest way to do it.

Would you need a dual intensity LED and a relay to make this flash with your brakes like some of the kits i've seen? I wanted to order the below bulb and do this but I would like it to flash with my brakes.

I must do this. I was just thinking today about how to do this. My hub is a electrician so I hope I can get him to do this.

Brake Light Strobe Module
And to switch the bulbs over to LEDs. Filament bulb wouldn't dim fast enough to flash well. I'm probably going to end up doing this mod. But I'm going to use a dual-wired LED (two brightness settings, can also be found at the link I shared).
