I'd take a jdl kit over the sbd a million times over. The biggest single factor in any kit is the turbo itself though, so make sure you pick the right turbo for your goals (leaving plenty of headroom for when you get bored later).

Things I would recommend are a wideband O2 from a safety/piece of mind standpoint and a boost/multi gauge. I run a P3Cars setup with Innovate wired into the aux port. Works well and isn't intrusive. That's the beauty of the SBD setup. JDL is pretty and has more potential for huge power. If that's your goal, run with it. I'd love to see a TS 3586 or 3794 built FA20. That might be something I do in the future, but for now, my stock motor and clutch are a blast with the addition of the SBD kit.

fbm can include a larger capacity cast oil pan, ecutek cable, license and requires no cutting. if you really want to talk about DIY capability.

sbd is still a pretty good deal but somehow people missed the "completeness" comment.

No cutting for me. My buddy welded my stuff for me. Welder a are easy to find around OKC. Maybe you don't gave any where you're from, but I think you're either too stupid to find one or too scared. Or maybe just shittalking. The BOV aspect, well, it's included and recommended to run. Again, super simple and inexpensive to have done locally. But I bet if you asked SBD to, they can have it done before shipping. I also think they have a welded pan option for cheap on their site. Bottom line: for $3499 you get everything except gauges, license and cable. The rest is up to you.

^ Seems you're the one talking crap. And besides oil pan, not everyone wants to compromise the crash structural integrity of their car, by cutting or removing the front crash beam.
FYI...SBD is one of the few kits that requires more than just bolt ons. Not sure how that makes it "straight forward" and "simple." Don't get me wrong, I like SBD' s kit, but tell the truth about the install...which they've said they're working on simplified solutions.

Its not a bad kit. But definitely the most involved instal.

And the fact that the kit comes with a base map doesn't qualify it as having more standard features than any other kit. You can't even use the base map unless you drop coin for the optional tuning equipment. This is no different than other kits (aka - similarly equipped). Other kits come with base maps as well, without the extra expense of the 'add-on' oil pan, to avoid modifying your factory pan. Everyone in this thread has agreed that its currently the bang-for-your-buck bargain kit. And we can all tell that you are VERY pleased with your kit. That's awesome man, seriously it really is. You just shouldn't make it out to be superior to other kits in ways its not. Stick to it strong points, which in reality, when we're comparing it to the other kits being discussed in this thread (JDL, PTuning, FullBlown), is ONLY the value. It falls short in other areas. But lets be honest, value (smiles per dollar) are a big factor.

I just received the JDL kit not too long ago, I would highly recommend them. The parts are incredibly well-made and they offer exceptional customer service. For the most part however these parts are made to order, which means you will be waiting for a while. In my honest opinion it's well worth the wait. Of course I may be a little jaded as it took longer for them to complete my entire order than it took Toni to send me a miscellaneous box of poorly manufactured parts. Unlike Toni who avidly avoided contact with me and lied about the whereabouts of my parts. Did I mention stay the hell away from Fa20club, for real just don't do it.

Ok, so how do the other kits get the oil drained from the turbo? By replacing or tapping the oe pan, right? Is it a big deal? Not to me. It's more difficult and intrusive to mod fenders for hellaflush wheels.
Taking pot shots at one another is easy. This forum of all the ones I've been part of is one of the worse. Too many fickle children and uninformed textual vomit but there is a bunch of good info if you can wade through the BS to find it. Hopefully, OP, you can figure it out for yourself.
