Map sensor. Are your idler pulleys smooth or cogged?

@zoth Picked mine up in person yesterday, they were cogged.

Having issue with the molded coupler though. I think its only a C38 issue though. Couldn't tell until I actually tried to fit it for half an hour... Its just too small.

The one I have is smaller on one side and larger on the other. The larger side slides right over the hot side pipe perfectly, but the smaller side will not fit over the outlet of the supercharger.

My thoughts are that this means it was truly meant for the C30, since the larger side can slide over the supercharger outlet perfectly. After checking, it seems like it's because the supercharger outlet and the intercooler pipe inlets are almost the same size. (all of the pipe inlets and outlets are this size)

Tagging @KraftWerks for a reply here... Hope to get this resolved

Met some of the folks there and they were pleasant to deal with.
I am not following you, the coupler that connects the supercharger to the intake tube is straight 3" and there is only one 2.5" to 3" coupler and that should be used on the second portion of the cold side (on the left between the last IC piping behind the radiator cap) ..

Are you sure you are following the instructions correctly?

@glamcem The 3" pipe you are referring to the SC inlet - I am referring to the SC outlet. The other coupler you mentioned is where it needs to be. Section 6 Step 1 references the molded coupler which secures to the SC outlet - this piece is the one the bypass valve is attached to.

I think the outlet of the C30 is a 2.5", and the outlet of the C38 is a 3".

@vgi was your molded coupler the same size all the way through? Mine starts small then opens up to accommodate the hotside pipe.

What motor/exhaust/fuel are you getting tuned with?

For you guys using cogged idler pulley's is it the sound that's different or there is a performance effect? I don't think so, but might as well ask.

Maybe some non slippage benefit in the upper rpms? I may have read that somewhere, but I can't remember exactly so take it with a grain of salt.

Primarily a benefit of less whine - near silent operation esp at lower RPMs. The KW supercharger pulley is cogged regardless so the idlers being cogged probably don't have much more benefit wrt to slippage.

Thanks to @digital_assassin for these instructions to put on the cogged idlers w/ minimum effort.

1) Remove oil filter

2) Loosen the belt tensioner and remove that pulley

3) Remove the bolt for the pulley by the oil filter but don't remove the pulley yet, just let it hang.

4) Remove the pulley above the tensioner pulley.

5) Now you can remove the pulley by the oil filter.

6) Put new pulley on the belt at the oil cooler and let hang again

7) Install the pulley above the tensioner pulley.

8) Bolt up the pulley in front of the oil reservoir.

9) Install the tensioner pulley.

10) Install the oil filter.
