We did map switch based ethanol programming for most of last year. Works well enough naturally aspirated, and usable with FI as well. If you're off by 10-20% content with NA worst case you lose 5 hp, maybe 10 if it is really off. But FI it is a different story. You'll end up going either too lean or too rich with overly advanced timing. Both can lead to a very, very bad day. That's what got us actually doing the flex fuel kits. Our car is SC equipped and many customers run e85. It makes a lot more sense to go the full flex fuel route given the relatively low cost, and the improved consistency and safety.

if he wants it he will ask. i don't advertise/offer/peddle shit on the forums, call me a purist. i'm here to help and learn, always have been always will be. they just make me pay for vendor status because, well... actually i haven't really figured that out yet lol. it's probably the idealist in me, but i don't think that enthusiast forums should be used for commercial purposes (it distorts things), so i just don't.

Correct. The ff kit consists of fuel lines, harness, sensor and optionally, a gauge. You then need an Ecutek cable, license, software (installed on your laptop/tablet) and a flex fuel tune.

Got ya. All the ff kits say "tune included". So I wanted to make sure I still needed ecutek to install the included tune. Friend said it basically piggybacked off the controller to the ecu. Didn't sound right to me lol

Right...only EcuTek based tunes have the flex fuel capability. You have to have an auxiliary input intercept to do it.

You're going to also need ecutek to do a good FI tune as well. So, no problem there. The FF will simply use the same tuning solution that your FI needs as well.

![]() Honestly I don't want to put boost on the frs for a couple of years. Would make me spend more money and eventually get the frs in the same place as my eclipse. Which is parked until a track day pops up lol.

Then get ecutek anyway. It's worth it when you get headers and a front pipe.
