is a flex fuel kit needed to run e85?

Is a tune sufficient enough to run e85, and what problems have people encountered with or without a fuel line kit on e85?

You don't need ff, although it will greatly contribute to convenience. You will need a tune at a minimum though. Port injectors or pump are dependent on your mods.

Already have the delicious tune for it just worried about the fuel lines and anything else that might mess up. I know fa20club has their flex fuel kit which includes replacement fuel lines but some people are running e85 with a tune only and I just want to see if there had been any issues yet.

There are differing opinions on E85's long term effects on fuel lines, seals, etc. I've been running it on and off for quite some time, when I was stock as well as FI (currently). I haven't noticed anything odd from running it other than occasional cold start issues. I put down 312whp at 11.5psi on a dyno dynamics on E85 (brzedit tuned sprintex s5-210). Works well with FI. It is not convenient since E85 stations are scarce in my area and I decided to go back to pump because of this. That and the cost of Ethanol shot up.

Oh yeah.. Stay away from the vendor you mentioned.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64621

Also, the fa20club ff kit does not come with replacement fuel lines, but only an extension required to add the sensor in series, on the return side.

You can run e85 without flex fuel. You can also eat soup with a fork, it's just not preferable.

Offer the OP your tuning services. He may find that you meet all of his ff/e85 tuning requirements.

I'd compare it more to doing the nasty without protection :bellyroll:

I do know a guy who had a horrible experience with fa20club. But yes I will stay away!

And running E85 with some vendor kits will give you a "burning" sensation as well!
