I ended up with quite a good deal thanks to a friend. Walked out the door even on the FRS (30,000 miles) even though I made payments on it for about a year.

I honestly would not be surprised if I once again end up in an FR-S down the road. Time will tell!

What is classified as boring cars to you? Because I have the same feelings about cars that people try and recommend me to buy now on my upgrade from my tC. And this car bores the hell out of me now! I almost fell asleep coming home from work one day in this car. I dozed for about 5 seconds. I need power AND features! Too bare bones.

And BTW, the cars I'm shopping and plan on test driving in the next few weeks are...

1.) 2014 Scion FR-S (seems a tad overpriced for the lack of features, but is GORGEOUS to look at)
2.) 2014 Honda Accord Coupe V6 (about just right, but TOO common)
3.) 2014 Chevy Camaro 1LT RS (a freaking loaded beast and a steal if under $30Gs.)

2 and 3 are more fully loaded from the dealer... My biggest fear about the FR-S is the car getting old fast to ME. I need lasting value without paying an arm a leg for, that's well equipped from the dealer.

Honestly, the only thing about the FR-S that grew old on me rather quickly, was the interior.

The cloth seats, and something about the material they used the floor. Just, eh. Genesis takes that checkmark against most cars in it's category. The interior is gorgeous.

The answer to this is the Monogram Edition.

And I actually love the interior in the FR-S... It has a sporty classic look (kind of bare but clean) to it while looking modern (touch screen, rev light indicator, paddles, etc) at the same time. And I love the black interior with red stitching!!!! Black and red has ALWAYS been my theme. I wish you could get this type of stuff optionally customed from the dealer. Why do some cars have blue or grey stitching and colors when we would rather have red? lol

lol, and the monogram... I DON'T like the interior... Not enough red, and I HATE leather seats! If I could get an FR-S customed from Scion with everything the monogram has without the leather seats, heated seats, bespoke, etc... (you know the stuff I don't like that jacks the price up) it would be PERFECT!!! Let me trade that stuff for some fog lights (why the monogram doesn't come with fogs is beyond me!!!) and lower that price to a realistic number for the features and I would really be set. lol

If you're looking for power and features (and by power, I'm guessing you mean torque), then the FR-S is probably the wrong car for you. This car is about feedback and a lightweight driving experience. Torque and features are probably its worst traits.

Lucky for you there are a ton of cars out there that offer good torque and features: 3.8 Gen Coupe, Mustang GT, Camaro, GTI, 370z, MS3, Accord V6, Camry V6, Focus ST, MS3, Optima, etc. That segment is pretty crowded.

As the title states, the right opportunity came along and I very painfully opted to trade out of my FR-S at no loss and picked up a new Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-spec.

I don't intend to justify or argue about why or how I ended up making that choice (partially a financial decision), but I do want to make a note regarding the fact that I loved every minute that I proudly owned my Raven Black Scion FR-S.

If you have any doubts regarding the purchase of an FR-S, believe me when I say that it is truly an incredible car, and if you can learn to appreciate it for what it is, there is no better sports car out there. The FR-S delivers on everything it promises, that is something I will never forget.
