depending on the effect you want ... I worked with a mix of materials to reach my aim (dead door). Only alubutyl is not always the right choise. I used heavy foil, some thin alubutyl and foam foil.
Some one other will tell you, that some L-profil alu bars will be needed. For normal usage the door kit should be enough to make a complete one layer on inner door, replace the watershield foil plus the inner door cover. Maybe some additional foam foil would the good between door cover and door.
