VP Racing Octanium / 91 to 98 oct
Just got this in today, Based on what a VP salesmen told me this is basicly the additive package that they include with their StreetBlaze 100oct race gas, essentially mixed to base 93oct gas to net their 100oct rating.
It says Mixed 1x32oz bottle to 10gallons of gas (91) will net 99oct. I will do a comparison of the following 91oct Vpower pump gas tune 94oct base tune 97oct base tune These tunes are sold to me and are supposed to be optimized for my setup (headers exhaust drop in) requireing very little tweeking. Based on the logs we will be able to come to conclusion if this octane "booster" actually works. I will also flash my 94 oct tune that made 185 on the dyno and see how it holds up to a 16oz mix (essentially 95oct) of the vp mix. Ill book a dyno and have all 3 maps on the same tune, 2 runs of each and see what the hp is, but just judgeing by the coming Logs from each grade this should give us a idea of the efficiency of this additive. the dyno will give a official result (maybe not for a month or so dyno shop is booked like crazy) This is to help people who have bad gas like me and only option is 91 or similar, in theory 12.5-1 static compression requires at least 94 for knock corective cars and 102 oct for old school v8 that have no computer advance or retard (check online there are hundreds of sites that confirm this) I am sure 91 can do but in theory our car should have at least 94. thats R+M |

Torco has made a similar product for years called "accelerator".
I've used it many many times with great results. Good to see a similar product!

yes i heard alot of good things about Accelorator , but apperently theres large amounts of MMT which contaminates oil and leaves deposits Orange usually in color" , the VP has no methnol ethanol MMT lead or any metalic components(or so they say) .it says on the box , not street legal, do not use in motor vehicles, but then says safe for cats and 02 sensors.

you don't have to do all that to see if it works.

oh i just was a variety of maps, 91 for travel within the province , 94 map for ripping around town and the hills and if i encounter good 94oct, and a higher octane map for either drags, or hot summer rips in the mountains , the 94 and 97 maps will be conserative . the 94 map i had was dialed in really good, but i got bad gas as usual so switched to vpower which is allways good here, its only 91, and i can tell it pulls much much less that the 94 tune. very noticable diff.im daily going to run half a bottle in vpower on a 94 map, and sometimes a full bottle

since i did the switch to 91 vpower from chevron 94 "no ethanol " the crickets are way way more silent, they only come on idle some time when the pump does that cycle that makes them kick on, and its almost silent, with the chevron you knew that pump was cycling and when the engine had been running a hour it was loud, but now i also use a redline addive in the fuel as well that might be whats quieting them

mind if i ask how much that box of it costs? I'd assume your going to do 32oz or one bottle per tank?
Torco IS awesome stuff but at US$125 for 8 tanks worth (our tank is 13.2 gal, so you would need about 21oz per tank to make 91 into 95) it's pretty pricey. works out to an extra $15.63 per tank. Edit: Theoretically VP octanium is going to produce similar octane levels with 32oz and from what I can see there are 8 bottles (tanks worth) in that box, so this should be a pretty even price comparison. yeah but is anybody going to put that in their tank every single time they fill up? Or will they just do it a few times, get tired of it, and go back to just pump fuel?

Im going to run it almost every tank as long as the 94 is garbage in the spring fall months, in the summer alot of ppl with performance boats and cars use it so its decent, im just going to put a half tank of strait 91 every 2 tanks octanium just to clean everything out, and when i park my car to go off to work i will not store it with additive in the tank
