Yeah! So we give them the same engine, same suspension, same chassis, same gearing, and a rear wing? Then which one @CSG Mike? I bet the BRZ will be faster because everyone knows that Subaru badges are faster on any given track than Honda badges.

If Honda took the F22C, gave it direct injection (assume that would allow it to meet modern-day emissions and fuel economy, and possibly hit 270 hp), and placed it into an S2000 coupe, that would be very close to my ideal car.
Double-wishbones all around, 50/50 weight distribution, 270 NA hp, 2800 lbs, RWD, and no need for a roll bar for the track. I wouldn't hesitate to pay ~$35k for it if Honda could price it that low. Unfortunately I don't think modern-day Honda has the stones to bring a product like that to the market.

Why did you sell that track s2k? Looks like a ton of fun.

Yes, the thing that really bothers me the most about this car is the engine issues and that dumb torque dip. Only if they used a more robust engine with better tuning.

If you increased the BRZ's horsepower to match the s2k by increasing its torque across the rev range (and keeping the redline the same), the BRZ would make about the same wheel torque as the s2k. If you increased its power by making the engine rev higher and make power at 8k+rpm, but didn't redo the gearing, you would be wasting the potential of the new powerband.

Note that from a MPG perspective, there is ZERO incentive for any manufacturer to go past zero lift. Most entry level lux cars and eco cars have zero lift as their design goals. |

Once you modify the FRS to be at the same power you have to give the S2K owner money to fix it's weaknesses. It becomes a pointless arguement.
