Unfortunate, because some people from those schools are really smart, but the world is messed up like that.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
But yeah, I know that. Not sure if any of you have read Ayn Rand's work (or completely disagree with her ideas), but I think if more people read The Fountainhead, there'd be less of "name recognition" and a more holistic review/approach.

Thanks for the advice.
I liked all of my science classes in high school, especially chemistry. Chemistry was just something that I understood, even though 90% percent of my class didnt. I didnt like math that much, which may present a problem for me if I go through with engineering and taking pre-req math classes in general, but I know if I put in the work, everything will turn out fine, no matter what I do, engineering or not. I'll at least have the chemistry knowledge to start cookin' some meth.

Yeah, hopefully whatever internships/networks I score in NY are "translatable" into California. I absolutely love that place. San Francisco is da bomb diggity.

Maybe I'm interpreting what you're saying wrong, but you're being a bit condescending as well in your post, but I'll ignore that.
You're kinda right. I really wanted to go to California, but my parents and I would have to pay off over $160k in loans. I didn't want to put my parents through that, considering my sister only graduated last year at UConn.
