Why do people run crazy aero with racing seats, a cage, a harness, fully gutted interior, gobs of horsepower, and then slam their car on shitty suspension and stretched tires? It's stupid as f*** but some people mod their cars PURELY for aesthetics. To each his own.

This is coming from a function >>>>>>>>>>>>>> form guy.

Has there been actual wind tunnel testing of this diffuser? Or it this a case of "it looks good so it must work"? I remember reading an article about diffusers on F1 cars, and the amount of work that went into the design was mind boggling.

Plucas works for an aerodynamics company. If he's made a diffuser, then it's had math applied to it.

Isn't ft86speedfactory coming out with it? I have a PDF of its wind test results.

fyi, a diffuser is generally at the rear of the car, sloping up, fore to aft. A splitter is on the front, an extended leading edge that "splits" the air.

edit @plucas, question for you. Most functional splitters I've seen (observational experience only) have the front blade connected to the bumper via turnbuckles, I assume for support and adjustability. Is that not required with the FT-86SF splitter?

It is not required. The splitter is much more secured to the bumper than most kits. Also along with being more securely mounted, it uses a stiff composite plastic to achieve greater stiffness. However, if the car is going to be seeing excessive speeds on the track, it would be a good idea to add turnbuckles. Most cars never see that speed, so it would not be needed. Hope that helps and feel free with any other questions.
