AutoX this weekend in SoCal, Fontana

Hey guys!

Just curious to see who's running this weekend at the upcoming AutoX! Seemed like this group will be smaller than previous ones. I'm super stoked for this event. Anyone do anything new to their cars? I'll probably be getting those new RS3's once they come out, if they are as good as I hope...

I tried for this weekend, couldn't make it happen. Probably the next event or two I'll have it. Right now, 245/40 Z2's on RPF1's, Catback, that's it. Everything else stock. I have my crank pulley, but debating whether or not I should attempt to install it tomorrow, and risk not having a car for the weekend.

EDIT: OH! And a tune from Moto-East. That'll be new for this event, I'm excited to see how it turns up.

Looking forward to this weekend, except for the high temps & maybe flying ash/smoke...

I put in a front sway bar since my last time, so hopefully I'll be less spooked about accelerating out of corners.
Maybe I can even remove the spare tire this time if the rear stays planted.

Always fun to see all the twins crowding the grid.

Jealous! I ordered a Whiteline Adjustable 22mm, along with a Nameless Front/Overpipe, both on backorder. Otherwise it'd be on the car in time for this weekend...

Which bar did you end up going with?

Went with Suspension Techniques 19 mm bar, since I'm old school and brought back memories lol.
Low price but I was delighted by the quality, even the packaging it came in. Guess KW ownership has upped their quality since the early 90s.

Only disappointment was it's not green, maybe more stealth as grey anyway.

I figure the BRZ is less tail happy than FRS to start so hope 19 mm is plenty. Set it on stiffer of the 2 settings and it does feel good on the street, almost like I have stiffer front springs.

What bar do you guys run with the big 245 tires?

Are you getting the Whiteline Front & Rear or just the front? Those bars come with adjustable endlinks included?
Seems like you will have some power gains for next time, with the new pipes.

My next mod will be a replacement K&N air filter. Not sure if that will add any power, but probably time for a new filter anyway since I am closing in on 21k miles. Hope it adds some noise at least.

Hey guys, I'll be right there with you JB86'd in nov cs. It's been about 9 years since I have been to Fontana where I did two practice events. Had to sell my car back then and move out of SoCal shortly after I started. So you could say this weekend is 9 years in the making, lol. Look forward to meeting you guys. I'll be in a blue brz (auto correct almost made me type out "I'll be in a blue bra" doh)

I had a K&N on my AT BRZ, it was nice. Can't really feel that much of a difference in power, maybe a slightly better throttle response, but that's it. But you can hear the engine suck in more air, and it sounds pretty sweet! That was the one thing I forgot to take out of the old AT when I traded it in for the MT. This time around, I'm just going to wait and get an intake all together.

I just ordered the front. After this weekend especially, as of right now I do not need a rear bar. The car was very very tail happy over the weekend, I nearly spun out once or twice. The front bar should calm things down quite a bit, and yes, the front pipe will help quite a bit.

Oh nice! Which of the twins were you? I was 386 STX NOV BRZ. Nothing super crazy or anything, I ended up with a 53.6 on my last run. Unfortunately, I didn't have to be there in the morning, so I missed out on all the guys running S2. It was way too hot, no grip, and a few friends of mine ended up cording their tires on the beautiful surface that is the Auto Club Speedway.

I was there in a white FRS. There was one more as well. Were you with SCCA or Speed Ventures? I was in the latter and I don't think I had a "class" like "STX NOV" or something. I can check though. I was able to clock a 35.0 on my best run. My outer tread had some chunking. Did the heat really make that much of a difference or did we run different courses? Good thing I went Sunday cause it wasn't too hot for most of the day.
