Recommend me some beginner autox tracks in SoCal!
I'll be moving to SoCal very soon (Laguna Beach area) and want to finally get some track time in with my Frs. I am a complete beginner--never ran an AutoX event in my life, so I don't really care about being competitive. I just want to learn. So with that said, what track in that area would you recommend?

El Toro autox is coming up on 3/2 in Irvine. You can run the novice group with an instructor, great way to learn! Check out solo2.com and sign up at motorsportreg.com

You can also try speedventures.com they run a small autocross setup in a smaller parking lot inside the AAA speedway at Fontana. It's easy in that you don't need to worry about working the course.
But the same small setup will get tiring after few events, the above post has the links for the real deal autocross

El Toro in Irvine will be pretty awesome. If it's your first time, I'd recommend going to the practice day on 3/1. It's a bit more expensive, but you get more time on the course. This will only be my second AutoX event, but I feel like the practice was a good start.
Hope to see you out there! |
