Scion likes quirky vehicles. They need a Baja.

There has been many scion truck renderings and they could use it as a way to test the small diesel market.

Scion corp has had a small truck in its lineup vision since east coast launch. Something about the size of the pre Tacoma toy truck. Their thinking was along the lines of light duty work, unibody. I doubt they will release a diesel due to costs (development).
However, with Nissan and gm coming out with diesel variants, and Tacoma being due for a redesign by 2015MY, I can see that being a late release to see if they are loosing sales to either. I fully expect to see a USDM spec D4-D motor taco by 2017 calendar year. There are retrofits for that available now out there, but it's close to $20k and my expo rig doesn't need that yet. The Toyota version of the first gen xB had a variant in Japan called the bB Open Deck. Pretty much an xB with a small bed.

My brother in-law had one of these till the other day. That bed was completely worthless. I am convinced that it is there just to air out your groceries on the way home. There does seem to be a small following of them here in Japan. Out of the few that I have seem out on the road only a couple have been stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe the 3 new Scions are a compact truck, compact CUV, and smaller 2 seater roadster.

I think the only issue with a hatch/wagon is that they don't really sale good in North America.
