New scions

According to Carbuzz, scion is bring 3 NEW models (not refreshes) to scion.

Scion FT-1, anybody?

m.box.design 05-02-2014 01:40 PM

I'll go out on a limb and guess that they will be...

A hot hatch.
A wagon.
A xB successor.

tahdizzle 05-02-2014 01:48 PM

I dunno. I'm guessing they'll turn the tC into a sedan. That's what I'd do. With the FRS, the sport coupe market is handled.

Scion doesn't have a sedan, and since the tC is built on a 4 door platform already, it wouldn't take much R&D to turn it into one.

4-door, somewhat "sporty" liftback... I can dig it. And it's not like the tC lacks the room either.

I would laugh so hard if Toyota put their flagship sports car into the Scion brand. The tears of all of the anti-Scion Toyota diehards would be absolutely delicious. :D

:barf: The FT-1 had darn well better be badged as Toyota when it gets to the states.

MR2-MRS replacement , please

a roadster would be nice too.

airjonny 05-02-2014 03:25 PM

It would help the badge if they had 2 performance cars and made a hot hatch. But car makers haven't listened to their young buyers since the 60s mustang. So I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a mini SUV that's uglier than the Juke, some funky box thing with tons of gimmicks and a hot hatch that really isn't quite one ala Veloster (good looking, missed the mark in performance).

Given that Scion is only available in the United States and Canada, and the size of the mid sized car market in the United States, my first guess is they'll bring out a Scion Camry.

husker741 05-02-2014 03:41 PM

They should stop making stupid FWD cars that kids rice out. tC's are on the same level as Civics in my eyes: an underwhelming, fake sports car/ricer.

I just love having to explain to people that no, my Scion is not the same boxy one that has a bunch of bright, neon color lights at night.

n2oinferno 05-02-2014 03:42 PM

Let's see...

Scion Supra
Scion Celica GT-Four
Scion MR-2

Anyone else have some onions in here...?

Well, if you drove a NSX would you get upset that when you told people you owned a Honda that they automatically assume Civic, Accord, CR-V, or Pilot?
