lol... PM'd u.
I'm 20. No tickets. 1 at fault insurance ( guy slammed to a stop @ intersection). I'm getting 9.2k quotes for a 2013 gen, so lets hope this is cheaper. |

currently dejardins is supposed to be the cheapest,
just use one of those online tools to get quotes then call them directly

The thing is once you are locked into a company many others don't give you lower quotes for some reason even if you have a decent record. I'm with Wawanesa, asked my broker for other quotes at renewal time, and they ranged from about 500 to 2000 higher!
Another thing to watch for - cheapest sometimes is not the best depending on how you drive. If you have a lead foot you need to look at what conditions companies impose to keep your rating - some companies drop your rating and spike your rates for 1 speeding ticket these days! Wawanesa rules are good - 3 tickets in 3 years without significant rate increase. Also look at allowable accidents. |

Many of you younger drivers and those of you that live in the GTA will be in for a big surprise. The car will probably be classified as a sports car and it wont be cheap to insure unless you are older, married or live outside the GTA. I am all of those and I pay about $3200 year for 2 brand new cars and my home insurance.
When calling for quotes, mention the school you attend, your job, if you have a second car, driver training. You may get discounts for some of those. Insurance rates suck in Ontario, but they will suck even more if you are young and live in the GTA. |

Go with belairdirect. For me they were consistently cheaper by $500 per year than the other insurance companies (td, RBC, state farm and intact). I currently pay $2700/year for my 2006 RSX (with speeding ticket on record) and I quoted 2012 v6 mustang, tc and miata (to estimate fr-s) at around $2300 per year.

Wow at some of these insurance quotes. For the one that's $9000 I'd put that money into renting a really nice place close to work/school instead. That's just insane. Never heard of anything even remotely that high before.

Yup... well no real choice LOL. My quote only gets a few 100 cheaper if I go with a used car, so might as well buy new.

Weird... even if I show I dont have an accident I still get a 8k a year rate... Canada is sooo dumb... My sister is living states side, (so that means 0star rating), 1 accident, 2 speeding tickets AND SHE STILL only pays 50 a month... GOD I HATE CANADA! |
