Thus why I estimate the light comes on with 3 gallons left. Also remember the hump in the fuel tank. One side may have 1.5 gallons left, thus triggering the floater switch, but en toto, gas remaining is 3 gallons.

oh cool

I thought that was a fact, that the light came on right then. I was like damn my fuel gauge and mileage is acting up

If I baby the car, I get about 28mpg indicated. If I drive as I want, I get about 25mpg indicated. On e85, I was a little above 20mpg. Back on 91 now.

With my old car, a 550i, babying the car got me 24mpg and pushing it got me 18. This is a lot better.

It isn't the worst habit in the world but you shouldn't be frightened to go a little past the fill up light.

My Nissan has been run out of gas a handful of times (I know at least 2x by me), at 200k miles it's still got the original fuel pump

the evo was a 2013. it was never neglected. i take care of my shietz. *thumbs up*

it was purely a mechanical design issue. and i was the victim in that.

i take care of the vehicle more than 99.999995 of everyone.

im SURE of it.

I can now get 27.5-30 mpg mixed.

That's good b/c estimated avg mpg for the MT is 25. 25 is what I get when I get too much of a lead foot on the street.

Much better than the STI. I'm looking forward to gas efficiency numbers when my whp exceeds the current sti motor's numbers.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Not knowingly? I clear the tip mileage at every fill, but I've never done anything with the MPG screen other than look at it. It's not resetting every time I clear the trip odo, is it?

Nope, you have to reset it manually just like the trip meter.

I managed to get 11.6L/100km now which is pretty good...trying to see if I can get the number a bit higher by driving more grandma-ish but it's tough...:P

My worst fill-up was around 25.5mpg, my best was just over 34.

Most of the time I hover around 30.
