There is a C-Street and a bunch of STX threads that contain this info for autocross.

I've been patiently waiting for Kumho to release their V720 tires. Unfortunately, the wait continues to grow and grow. For now, at least in Southern California, the RS3 and ZIIs seem to be the most popular tires.
I'm currently running ZIIs, but am hoping I can get some feedback on the RS3 (version 2) and V720s before my next order. Unfortunately, I'm running out of time ![]() Edit: I just found this YouTube video of a GT86 running the RS3 and V720. Looks like the RS3 is a faster tire: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n6ayvlzsJA"]RS3 V720 비교 테스트 - YouTube[/ame] Last edited by TemeCal; 04-14-2014 at 04:45 PM. Reason: Added youtube vid |

![]() Side note: the Kumho XS were good in dry, but absolutely horrible in wet. For the value, it was on par with the 595RSR...at least in my own personal opinion. The NT05 is crap...it is a bit worse than the 595RSR... |

This line on the Rivals goes against what I am hearing from drivers who have been using them when compared to Toyos or Dunlop Z2s. - Excellent accel/braking grip Of these, one is a fully-prepped STC Civic, one is a CS Solstice ZOK, and the other is a CS FR-S, all driven by our best and most experienced drivers in the region (who frequent national events, including pro solo). All of them have said that the Rivals are poor at putting down power, and under braking compared to the other tires they were using. |

Has anybody (I'm talking to you auto-xers only) tested the new RS3s yet? Did Hankook mess them up, or are they still among the top choices? Do they need to be shaved? How about water sprayed between runs? Any signs of chunking?

Old RS-3s here, have also run original Direzza Z1s, PSS on other cars, Z1s were my favorite, I have RE-11 sitting around to replace RS-3s next, excited to see how those do and then look at the ZIII next year I think.

Interested in a comparison for RE11A, RS3 version 2, and eventually when the ZII StarSpecs come out. If anyone can provide a comparison, that would help me a ton, since I need to buy tires this month.

I have the RS3 v2 installed on my S2000, and the RS3s on the FRS.
The V2s by far have a lower operating temp range than they did before. Unfortunately I don't have a back to back test with same car, but you can take the FRS out on cold RS3s in 50 degree weather on the street and they are always slippery. The RS3 v2 on the S2000 are slippery for like 5 minutes before grip appears. I will be autoxing them this weekend will follow up. But my opinion is if you want the best 200AA treadwear tire for autox/track street tire its the RS3. I am faster than the ZII guys in S2000 and FRS with RS3s. You just have to accept the trades offs that come with it, like horrible road noise when they wear, slippery in cold, and marginal wet grip. The ZII is the better tire for those doing much less autox and track, its almost the reverse situation of the RS3, its better than those tires in wet, cold, and road noise but does not equal it's dry grip or heat resistance. At the 24 hour lemons race, a huge majority of teams ran the ZIIs multiple 24 hour races before they corded great tire.
