I've NEVER seen them do a visual inpsection. To find the cats on these cars you have to put them on a hoist (and remove the undertray for the primary cat). No e-test shop is going to waste a hoist to check this when the new test just involves plugging it into a computer.

How many years is it before a new car has to do an e-test here in ON?

So the ECU tune would be able to initialize the emission variables and not keep them undefined in a loop to keep the CEL off?

I've lost track but years ago an aftermarket tune in the VW/Audi world would put in an infinite loop during the emission variables initialization so it never completes in order to keep the CEL off, but the variables would become undefined hence "not ready" state. I've always wondered if these tunes can pass the new e-test.

BTW I've also found the flyer for Toyota Techstream Lite. The Moongoose MFC Interface cable itself is $495 but not sure how to purchase it.

If you have one of those bluetooth OBDII ports, you can run apps on your smartphone to check if your sensors are "ready"

I guess someone with a tune could chime in then

If someone has a BT adapter and the app, I'm sure we can find a catless car with the CEL's disabled to try it on.

I can disable my CEL, but I have the primary cat so it's not a fair test.

I've got a BT adapter that I link to my nexus 7 tablet and run torque app. I will bring that and we can play around with it.

If there is another app you suggest I can have that one ready to go to

That should be fine. Next time I go to flash my car I'll disable the O2 based CEL's before flashing.

Hey Everyone

I was driving through Kennedy Commons this past weekend and noticed that they have stopped turning on all the lights in the Rona parking lot.

Not to worry though, directly across the street (William Kitchen Rd) beside the Mr Greek, there is an area that is not used and has new LED lighting throughout the parking lot.

I will update the first post with this new information and hopefully everyone sees this so they don't show up to a dark empty Rona parking lot.

@Taro can you please update the GTA meets thread with this new location? Thanks

I have also mapped out a route that people can take if they are willing to give someone a ride. It's a simple 5 minute route that will give highway and city driving: https://goo.gl/maps/aB6t1

How many people are attending this meet? Would be great for me to take a look at some builds here before I decide if I should go or not. And if I do, to make a note of which setups I want to check out.

There has been a pretty good response so far. I would say there's gotta be at least 10 to 15 people coming.

By the sounds of it there will be a couple supercharged cars, a couple more with extensive exhaust setups, and many others with various mods.
