I thought he was trolling too, glad he updated the pics.

Can you push it in at all? Like does it go in, then spring back? Or does it not move at all right there?

When I took my bumper off and put it back on.. I banged my hand pretty forcefully on that edge for it to click in.

Probably just bad clips like someone else said.

Looks like it's sitting forward too. I think when my wheel liner was unclipped.. I pulled back hard on the bumper near the sidemarker and banged on it at the same time. It might not be seating right.

Hopefully I'm not offbase, and you guys really did yank on the bumper near the fender, but here's what I'm talking about

I photoshopped the bumper as if you were trying to push it flush

It's too far forward. The bodylines don't match up.

I really had to yank on my bumper and practically stretch to get it to line up right.

Maybe something like this is happening?

Should i take the bumper off again and try to realign the clips?
I'm afraid of breaking them then i have to replace a new bumper.

They're not bolted, they have "some" play. I would probably pull the wheel well push clips (and sidemarker) and any ones near the wheel well on the underside, then do some wiggling and pulling.

I won't guarantee anything.. but I can't imagine you'd break the bumper tabs by banging them in a little with the side of your fist as long as everything is lined up. Polyurethane is pretty resilient, ABS is not. I used to break headlight tabs all the time back in the day (10 year old cars, the temperature swings kill the plastic).

If you wanna be safe.. maybe get a second person. Sit on your butt and grab the wheel well arch of the bumper and the bottom and pull backwards. Have someone else lightly bang near the headlight, then backwards as the clips fall into place.

The bumper on my last car had a good 0.5" of play. This car was tight as a drum as far as getting those clips to seat right.

BTW to the thread starter, did putting the bumper back on cause those little scuffs on the fender by the sidemarker? or is that dirt?

That terrified me. The metal clips definitely scraped my fender, no damage though. Next time I'll throw a towel over both corners while mounting the bumper.

I'm missing a few of those Phillips head push pins that go by the wheel well, will there be a problem with having that fixed if I'm missing those? Also, is it possible to order replacements online because I can't find them anywhere.

I have little experience with Subaru, but when I worked on my brothers Honda, we went to the dealer and they gave him about 5 for free. His push clips were impossible to get off without destroying them.

I just went from my garage with dirty hands and i can confirm and pretty sure that the clips were aligned properly, but the bumper is still off by a little.
After realized this is a subaru I think i have to live with it...
But thanks for the help anyway...
i think it is because the clips under the headlight were in the wrong position to lock the bumper to the correct position.

I had this too back in July 2012 when I got the car, my dealer took care of it right away and ordered the updated headlight brackets that the bumper clips into. Gaps are gone now. Originally they ordered new brackets but head office called them and said there are updated versions. Hope that helps.

I know somebody wedged a piece of plastic in the gap and it looks much better, still a crappy solution for a new car ...

Could you do all of us a big favor and try to acquire part numbers ?

Do you have the invoice or part number? I would like to show them to my dealer in case they don't know what i am talking about.

Damn, sorry bud I tried

Hope the dealer works it out for you, I'd be upset. It's still somewhat "Toyota", and they wouldn't allow that

Here are the part numbers from my invoice, and should be the updated versions.
57707CA010
57707CA000

These are for Left and Right.

If they don't believe you tell them to contact Sharon at Peterborough Subaru. She should be able to give more specifics regarding my car 2013 WRB Sport Tech that had the brackets replaced in August 2012

Thank you very much!
I'm going to sleep early tonight, and will rush to my dealer tomorrow morning before they open.
I hate this kind of issue, i have Obsessive compulsive disorder when i see car imperfections.

Hey, i just found the TSB paper which can be printed and showed to the dealer.
