I'd rather bump an old thread than start a new one... So, anyone running these?

They're decent, get them. They increase lock enough that I'm now rubbing on the sway bar.
Prob the best bang for buck mod I've done. |

Awesome!
That's good to know. There aren't exactly a lot of angle mods out there for the 86 yet... |

Just out of curiosity - how hard was the install? Any problems?
Also, do you think the Whiteline Tie Rod ends would make any difference? |

I have the whiteline tie rod ends as well, they aren't going to give you more lock.
You have to visualise the steering system from the rack to the knuckle to visualise what effects what. Just having a longer tie rod is just going to make wheels toe in. The megan inner tie rods are no longer than stock. But they have a part of the knuckle/joint machined down, this allows it to enter the rack, more rack movement = more lock. As I said, with just the inner tie rods, I am rubbing on the sway bar. So you won't get any more angle by doing anything else, unless you increase the track via a lower control arm. They're easy to put in. I bet if you just took it for an alignment, the aligner will put them in before the alignment for a sly $20. I already had my car on the hoist putting other parts in, so I just dropped the whole rack assembly as one and changed it all over on the ground. But you dont have to do it that way. You can see the rubbing here. Adding a spacer helps a little, but still rubs. This is just with 7.5" wide wheel and 205/40 tyre. Its a lot of lock though. I'll don't find myself needing more angle, unless I've over cooked it and am trying to save it. Thats about all more lock would be good for. |

Good info. I understand how the inners work, I just wasn't sure what the white line outers do to be honest.
Some geometry change I assume, but wasn't sure if they were beneficial to drifting. What I take from this thread, is that knuckle mods on these cars are going to be useless unless you go widebody... |

Ultimately, steering angle is governed by numerous things. For me, it's inner clearance. I could flip the top hat, increase track, and get more lock., still without touching the knuckle. The prototype PBM kit does not have wide body. It really comes down to te wheel/tyre size. |

K, got my car, got my Megan Inners.
Look like quality parts. Not sure when exactly, but may put 'em in this weekend. Would appreciate getting access to your write up. |
