Its pretty easy, the aux jack is probably the hardest part. WORST case if you or another member has issues I can pull my stereo and take some photos of the harness.

You shouldn't need to pull the usb port/aux port jack out of the dash. The part i was talking about was the 20 pin plug that is behind the radio. All it will be used for is the aux jack.

Just a few questions about this hu:
1. Can a reverse cam be connected and function when put into reverse (as I have on the OEM unit) 2. Can the factory USB and aux jacks be used? |

Some Questions:
1) I don't get the complaints about an iPod cable. Can't you just use your lightning cable to plug into the OE USB jack, which is plugged into the HU? Why do you need a specific iPod cable? I'm an android user, but I was confused by this. 2) Does the display turn completely off like the OE HU? 3) I didn't see an answer regarding guide lines for the reverse camera. Does it have its own, and how adjustable are they? 4) The "GPS" button on the unit, can you determine what program that brings up? 5) Can you (and how) use voice commands for things like navigation and audio? 6) Does it lock you out of certain functions when moving like stock? |

You can set it to do this, but I don't know why you would want to. |

I would think you can just use Google Voice/ Google Now to initiate voice commands, or at least that's the impression I was under, so I hope so, will find out soon unless someone else chimes in.

I wouldn't. That's my point. It makes using the BRZ navi pretty much useless along with other reasons. Thanks for your reply. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Anyway, you can adjust the brightness on the unit in the software settings. I don't know if you can turn it off, but you can at least turn it down. Last edited by Prog; 04-27-2014 at 12:56 AM. |
