Can someone provide me with information on how to sand/prep ABS parts for paint? Like what grit of sand paper and what sanding techniques. Figured I'd save myself some $$$.

My dealer informed me NO WAX! Because of the acrylic finish. Basically, he stated use acrylic cleaner and polish which cannot be found at Auto Zone or car care stores. They recommend a paint store where I found a 3M product. I used it applying a coat, three times per year, Southern sun is intense, harmful, and the car still looks like new. I gald they school me or I would have never known, recommendation not in the owner manual and I would have fucked up the finish.

I purchased a merino wool wash mitt, the expensive kinds. It informs that it takes a lot of care for proper maintenance.
-What do I do after each wash, hang dry? It says that it could rot? -How frequent do I clean it in the washer? How often do I comb it? |

- you can clean it in the washer with wool light on a wool mode and then comb it out (if you wash your car often you may want to clean up the mitt more often) |

What would you recommend for a pressure washer system, I see many different brands and price varies from 100-400

May be a dumb question, but why use a Brinkmann to find swirls? Can't a regular LED flashlight suffice? (Or any other flashlight for that matter?)

Phil, what would you suggest to get dust off a car between washes?
Also, Streamlight makes a great LED flashlight. Just don't point it at yourself; it's almost weapon-grade bright. |

Went in for some work and the techs left some black tar-ish sealant in a few places in the car: start button, rear armrest, seat belt male end, and a couple places on the floor liner. The only place where I'd imagine I'd have problems is the floor liner because it's fibrous as opposed to metal or plastic.
Any advice? |
