I ask you this because I've never had a problem with it but I live in Florida and I notice a lot of you live in the frozen north. Or the really cold northwest.

I'm totally impressed how such a relatively small and light weight thing can replace the anchor of the stock battery.

So... Any bad stories?
No problems. Cranks a little slower then OEM, but gets the job done every time. I didn't drive my car in the winter, parked it for 5 months. In 40 degree weather (garage) it held a charge for 4 weeks and I was able to start. When I went back 6 weeks later it didn't start the car. I'm not sure if the OEM would have either.

I'll be curious about actual winter conditions. Here in Ohio we normally see a lot of 20-30 degree temps with a few days/nights below that. This past winter, however, was considerably colder.

I used an 925 odyssey battery, it all fit into the stock battery tray.

I was thinking about increasing my dump battery amperage to get more power.

It seems like the most cost effective way to do this would be to get another starter battery and parallel it to the existing starter battery and parallel that to the existing dump batteries. This would more than double the available power.

Then get another starter battery and mount it remote from the dump pack dedicated just for starting the car.

But WHY???

Really!!!

The dump pack can do both.
Just tap off 12 volts to the starter.

Think about it.

I think the issue with that is asymmetrical charge and discharge.

Wired properly, you could put all the batteries in parallel during starting then split off the dump pack once the car is running. Doesn`t seem worth the trouble considering that all the guys who live in the cold zones made it through the winter.

Updated first post with Shiv's dual dump pack results. This is the same tune that is used for single dump pack with the only change being slightly higher boost.

2013 FRS 6MT
Mods:
TQ250 with dual dump battery configuration(starter relocate to trunk)
OpenFlash Tablet
OpenFlash Header
Single tip cat-back
Modified air duct
93oct (although the it's mapped conservatively enough to make the same power on 91oct)
[Stock run shown for reference]

Wow. Nearly 220/195 on 93oct. If measured at the crank, that would be what, about 270/240?

Closer to 260hp actually assuming 15% loss. Almost as much power as the amazing (Wards 10 best multiple years in a row) 3.6L Pentastar V6 that we have in our 5,000lb Grand Cherokee.

I was assuming 20%, but that may be too high.

20% is too high based on most of the dynos showing stock power at 170whp which would be 15%
