That is standard practice, else you could order a whole lot of parts, decide you don't want it and then they're stuck with it. Don't worry though, your parts will be here before you know it.

Yep, it's crazy - except for the discs, that sounds pretty fair compared to other performance cars on the road. The high spec has also got vented discs at the back but I'm not sure if the pads are different.

Either way, I wouldn't buy pads from Toyota, I'm sure even Midas would stock decent pads for an Sti.

That's why you only get a 60000km service plan.

Bet ja dollar, 750000km is a killer service charge......

Yep, with 100k being an engine out service it would probably be worth paying the R13565.87 to extend the service plan to 105000km if you plan on keeping the car that long.

R14k odd for 3 services of which one is massive sounds like a good deal to me.

Service excludes wear and tear parts, so you still get nailed on the brakes....

I have asked Castrol which is the best synthetic oils for our vehicles, as I can see standard GTX being used by the dealerships.....

I don't care too much about the brakes, I usually do those myself anyway.

It's the 100k engine out to replace spark plugs service which is going to be EXPENSIVE.

Powerbrakes already have BBK's for the 86/BRZ, they might also have the oem brake pad replacements as well.

Update on Spares - phoned Star Brake in Edenvale - 86 isn't in the catalogues yet from what I can see - they would need samples or alternatively to see the car. Surprisingly they didn't quite know what it was, until they described it as that new sexy looking thing and remembered the adverts...

Apparently rear brakes on the standard model are from a 2008 WRX...
Possible. Fronts are definitely from the STI, I had part numbers but lost it. Doh.

Hawk HP Plus

Hawk Ceramic

All of those are cheaper than the Ferodos.
