Seriously though. Some people will never go FI, for that, the OFT is perfect for them. Some people want to run a turbo kit, ecutek is perfect for them.

Some people prefer the price of the ecutek, some people prefer the price of the OFT. I don't see why this is degenerating into a useless pissing thread. Each unit has it's merits and drawbacks. It is what it is, that's the nature of this hobby.

I ran 50/50 e85 and e10 boosted until I managed to find an e85 station with no issues. I stayed out of boost obviously but I was ok. The OP brings up a good point, I was in the middle of a 200 mile trip and the station in the middle had the pump nozzle ripped off when I got there. Was almost catastrophic.

The OFT does support FI. We have free and open maps available for the Vortech SC and Phantom SC. And more to come soon...

I think the whole switching tunes things is a bit drawn out in this convo.

It takes 5-7 mins to flash with OFT and have to carry it in the car.

If I can save $1000 by waiting 5-7 minutes, I will do it every time

Everyone is different

Choose the tool that suits your
1. budget, price
2. needs now and future
3. Required support level
4. Prior knowledge or tuning ability
5. Price of re-tunes for future mods or upgrades
6. Ease of use
7. portability
8. re-sale ability
ect

Work out which factors are most important to you , do your research and make an educated decision on the tool you buy and/or the tuner you use.

Otherwise its just another GM vs Ford , Mac Vs Windows debate.

By more to come, do you mean AVO?

Sorry for jacking the thread.

Hell I wish I had map switching at all on my celica. If I want to change e-85 to 91 with the power FC. I got to bust out the laptop, drain the gas tank and change out injectors.
Bunch of spoiled brats.
