Flexfuel kit is about $700, the flexfuel tune cost is $500, you still need the Ecutek license of $350 if you don't have it already.

What flexfuel does is it measures your ethanol % level and uses the proper mapping for that %. so let's say you get some e85 that is not really e85 (maybe e70), with your e85 tune you most likely be knocking and as we all know, knocking is BAD

Incorrect. Even if you fill up with E60, you won't come close to knocking. We provide this not too long ago. And customers continue to prove this on a daily basis through posted data logs.

But trims are what save this -- my local station runs about E65-E70 in the winter to help with starts. Not a single issue to be found anywhere. IAM hanging at 1.0. On his tune.

Move along, troll.

Funny, calling me a troll. I thought this is a forum to communicate and learn info about our cars. I don't know much about OpenFlash and just asking for him to give me more info. Just relax.

You got called a troll because you stated your opinion as a fact.

OFT is $500 and their free OTS tunes can account for various different levels of tune on 91 octane, E85, and 93 octane soon. Compared to the $1550 you would have to spend to get a flex fuel tune, with the oft I would have a thousand bux left over to spend on whatever else I want. Or get 3 OFT's if I'm feeling fancy. I think I'll just make sure I keep one OFT in the car for situations like this, and not have to shell out more money when I change my setup down the line. Thanks.

I guess it's a personal preference, I'll spend the extra $1050 so I don't have to switch tunes.

I said "most likely", I didn't know that makes it a fact, next time I'll say "possibly".

I know exactly what flex fuel does and again for the money I can put a little effort in and get the same results. Not to mention e85 will be more expensive than gas by a wide margin once the govt stops subsidizing it. It's days are numbered.
