So I finally made my decision and have upgraded wheels and tires. I went with the exact same setup as the OP (@FRSFirestorm).

My goals were to get a quality wheel with a weight savings compared to stock and achieve
a better looking offset than the stock wheels provided.

This setup accomplishes all those goals and I'm very pleased with how they look. I haven't had any time to really drive and get a feel for how the wider/better griping tires. There is an immediate difference in steering feel....feels more weighty/heavier. This isn't unexpected, but will take some getting used to. Onto the obligatory pics:

Front wheel offset is just slightly tucked...which to me is perfect. No camber adjustment here.

Edit: 23Apr2014 - by request ( @Caboose ) am adding some 3/4 shots...sorry for crappy phone pics:

Nice.

Any have pics of these, or have them, in a wider and/or lower offset? Maybe around a 9" et35?

I'd wanna see if they have flatter/concave spokes and a deeper lip in a lower offset (maybe similar to all the rpf1 9" et35)

Per the enkei site, this wheel isn't made in a 17x9.

Can you comment any more on the change in the steering feel? I am looking at getting this exact setup. Do you think it is because of the additional tread width, or offset difference? I would think it may feel lighter as they weigh less?

Thanks.

Pat

Sure. I think it's actually due to both the offset and additional tire width that I'm running. I can say that I've already gotten used to the change, and don't consider it a negative whatsoever. You will notice it the first couple times you drive the car, but you will adjust quickly to it. The increased grip, and the vastly improved ride quality are very much worth it.

As for the weight savings...I've read on the forums that reduced weight in the wheels and improved grip with better rubber should help with acceleration and braking, but is hard to truly notice when driving. I must say that acceleration does feel more brisk to me with this new setup; I would call it very noticeable, but concede were not talking about shaving seconds off your 0-60 times. But I admit I wasn't expecting to really notice this benefit and have been pleasantly surprised by it.

Bottom line: great upgrade for my car, and am very glad I did it.

Thanks for the reply Meeple! I originally had been considering the wheels with the 45 offset instead of the 38 offset to stay closer to stock. I have since figured I would want the extra clearance with the 38 as the rim is a little wider and and the 225 tire is a bit wider as well.

I am going to get these ordered up!

Sounds great; post up some picks once you have them mounted!

So no rubbing on hard corners (like U-Turns or tight autocross corners), correct?

+45 Offset version

There is a +45 offset for this wheel as well, there doesn't seem to be another thread for it so I've attached a pic of mine here anyway.

I chose this wheel for it's closeness to the original spec and lighter weight compared to the original. On my household scales they are about 1.8kg lighter than the OEM wheel. I think they suit the car really well. I like these wheels a lot so far.

Michael.
