You have to be careful with stick on paddle shifter extenders, a lot of the time when shifting from the top or bottom of the extender, it can cause a flex and the shift won't be processed. Not a good thing when you're at redline.
Some Audi's have had a problem with the aftermarket as well. It's best to replace the whole paddle, not just put stick on's. But of course, the material and flexibility of it are what truly matters.

As for the paddles, I think they are fine. It's funny, the current Viper GTLM and GT3/D cars, we started with nice big paddles, similar to the 86. The drivers complained about the size, now they are about 2 fingers wide. |

That is some nice work. The snug fit around the original paddle reinforces the extensions against flexing.

Yes please someone make some extensions. Relocation will cost too much.

I don't mind the stock ones. I think I want them painted orange though.

I agree. A pair of good quality stick on extenders would be ideal for our cars. Relocating will be a project not a simple 1-minute modification (2 minutes if you clean the contact surfaces before mounting the extensions).

I've mentioned this before but I'd really like to see magnesium alloy parts to replace the plastics on the paddle shifter, shifter boot, and steering wheel. Other car brands feature magnesium alloy paddle shifters; for instance 370z, Mitsubishi Evo, and Lexus IS-F, Aston Martin.

But for old timers like me who grew up with floor mounted automatics, you pulled back to go into lower gears and pushed towards the dash to go back up, so this way makes perfect sense.
