6th to 5th Downshift Crunch

I took my car to Toyota yesterday due to my car crunching horribly every time I shifted from 6th to 5th @ ~65 mph. It has done it ever since I bought the car, but then again most of the synchros crunched when I first got it (2nd, 3rd, and even 5th - but most cleared up). I dont make the shift often (long enough to forget about the issue in between), but last week I did it again without thinking about it and the sound made my stomach churn.

Took a ride with a Toyota technician yesterday and it crunched on the first demo. He stated I was shifting too slowly so I made the 3rd demonstration faster and the crunch was multiplied x3. He told me to turn around and return to the dealership. He called the "tech line" and they informed the dealership to replace the transmission.

Just an FYI if anyone is having a similar issue and putting it off like I did. I first noticed this a couple of months after buying the car, and only made that shift a few times in the year since.

I actually have the same problem with my FRS but it only happens once in a while on the highway. Probably gonna have them check it out when I bring the car is for a noisy throw out bearing.
