Oh no! It has begun...

So yesterday I started thinking that JDM exhaust tips would be cool, and by this morning I was thinking "If I spend $150 on exhaust tips, why not just $500 on a Nameless Axleback?" And then I found myself on the Enkei site looking at RP-F1s... crap, I've been down this road before and once it starts it's hard to stop!!!

It happened to me. I wanted more comfort driving and jumped on the OEM armrest GB.

I started autocrossing it and thought camber bolts would be a good investment.

Next, better tires sounded great.

Then I wanted to save weight and bought a berk track pipe.

I decided I have to round out the package and find a better filter.

Then I though "well, i cant sound good and not look good...." and bought springs

"Awww fuck it. Im in STX anyway." And a perrin pulley magically showed up at my door.

Next thing you know I have sway bars, a shifter bushing, and a transmisison stiffener installed.

The fact that some things are so cheap makes it worse.

"I'm not thrilled with the way the shifter feels; that shift bushing might be good. Huh, it's only $20. Purchased."

"I saw a video showing the rear diff mounts flexing, that can't be good. Hey, WhiteLine makes a bushing insert for them. It's only $46. Purchased."

And on and on. It doesn't even need to be a $500 exhaust or springs or whatever.

Told myself I would keep her stock until she runs out of warranty.

1 year later...new wheels, 2 new set of tires, camber bolts, LCA's, exhaust, intake, etc.

Lol, I did the EXACT same thing. "Oh yea, I plan on keeping this car stock. It doesn't need anything else" Oops

Totally understand how you feel! I couldn't stand the stock height wheel gap so I got a set of coils... then I saw a monogram on the road and thought "I want those headlights too!" and ended up joining a groupbuy for the winjet headlights. Thought a set of Valenti tails would complement the car as well, so joined another groupbuy... and the list goes on. One thing lead to another and now my wallet's crying.

I'm right there with you - but I've never been one to modify my DD's. I realized as I was washing her for the 3rd time this week yesterday that the BRZ is like that girl you fall madly in love with so you buy her the nicest things.

All my other cars were those girls that were fun in some way, but you really didn't want to spend much on the gifts. Just wasn't worth it.

Even my wife is a wee bit jealous of this one....she asked "when do I have the right to say no?"

My big plan is keeping it pretty stock for now - wheels/tires/brakes/catback/intake/shifter - simple stuff like that, which I have half of so far.

NOW, my long term is to get another dd in a few years, then this thing is gunna get nuts.

Hah. I was going to buy a muffler and lower the car. This car was going to be my Eco car while I built another car. Well a good year and half of the value of the car in mods later I finally bought my muffler.
