Its been a long time since I updated this build as I hadn't even touched the car up until very recently due to how busy the shop has been. The fire damage was more extensive than originally thought behind the dash so I spent many months trying to buy a wrecked BRZ or FRS. In the meantime we still needed to win a championship and with it going down to the finally in Sebring, FL we enlisted the help of our friends at BC Racing and they supplied me with a Taxi to race
![]() While it may have taken our FRS, STi, and a M3 we are the Whelen USTT National "Unlimited" Champions. Here is a little more on the race: http://elementtuning.com/2014/02/11/...onship-finale/ With the championship wrapped up and a little vacation time I returned with the desire to step up the FRS program. A new dash, switch/kill panel, and Hydra EMS installed to replace our charbroiled pieces. I'll likely use the switches for "Hydra Traction" override so I can use my tuned traction control but still have stability off, data logging, brake blower fans, possibly a cool shirt system to cool the power steering motor so it doesn't fail as often, and at least one LED for engine coolant overheat. ![]() Here is what we had to start with. ![]() Progress ![]() Since our little FRS needs to battle it out with race prepped Vipers and Corvette Z06s we decided to stuff 325 Pirelli slicks on all 4 corners to level the playing field. ![]() With monster tires we needed some wide fenders and while Rocket Bunny wasn't my first choice (it's very common among builders), in the end I'm very happy with the product. Nothing like cutting your fenders and seeing inside your car. LOL! I decided to do it right and tin it up with some tack welds, sealer, and then paint. ![]() With no running car I still wanted to get some cold weather and traction control tuning done. http://www.youtube.com/attribution_l...eature%3Dshare There is no place for dinky factory figment radiator on a race car so like so many parts we use for racing we had to fab up our own solution. ![]() Last but but not least we can't forget the motor as clearly even moderate power resulted in engine failure under heavy racing conditions. Pauter, Ferrea, and JE will be put test as we pit our Pro Comp motor together with some Big Valve heads. A dry sump is heavy on my mind! ![]() Thanks for checking in and stay tuned as we go for another national championship in our FRS. Thanks, Phil Grabow |

Yeah I'm really excited to take the car to the next level but we still have much to do. I'll probably have to make a few compromises this season but I want to get the car out there in competition again. For this season the car will be in a state that is relative to most "track" cars and won't be over the top on fabrication or horsepower.

Can I get some more info on that roll bar setup you have in there? Any more details and in-car pics of it?
Thanks.

Now I wouldn't call myself a "Rocket Bunny Boy" since I'm rocking 325 width racing slicks and not 2" spacers with 225s. LOL! |

I wasn't happy with how that roll bar bolted in so I ended up welding plates down with a backing nut to secure the bar better. I ran out of time but plan on having the front section custom made and welded in.

reviving a thread, would you mind sharing the spring rate of your custom BC coilovers?
I know it might be secret, just trying
