Element Tuning Raven Black FRS Track Build (Race Proven)

And so a new chapter begins for Element Tuning as we take on the FRS and BRZ. We aren't known for building slow cars and well the FRS/BRZ is a slow car but most of us know that going in. What it has is an exceptional chassis and great driving dynamics.

6/13/2012 (New wheels tested)

These wheels are Rota T2R 18x9.5 ET38 (5mm spacer required on front) with Goodyear GT something in a 225/45-18. They are taller in diameter because the Legacy GT they came from has really large wheel arches and it fills them in better. Since this car isn't lowered yet these do the same thing here. For the front to fit a 5mm spacer was needed on the front.

Loving how this looks!

As a racer I'm really looking forward to taking this car to a whole new level of grip and HP. We'll be relying again on BC Racing to custom valve our new suspension so we can take this car to the highest level of racing just like our STi.

On the HP front we'll be developing the Hydra EMS stand-alone engine management system along with an Element Tuning Pro Comp engine build. We need to tear this thing down and start working with manufacturers as soon as possible so we can build the motor to handle the turbo system we have in store.

I hope everyone is as excited as we are to build a sick race car out of this chassis!

For now some 18x8.5 SSRs with 225/40-18 Toyos we had laying around the shop. Definitely a conservative fit and I see plenty more room in there to go wider.http://elementtuning.com/store/wp-co...ningFRSweb.jpg

I am really excited to hear about what you guys plan on doing on the tuning front. Right now that seems like the most pressing obstacle towards unlocking the full potential of this car...

By the way, this R&D thread might interest you:

holy wheel gap batman! I am not sure if it is the color of the car/rims or the angle but wow it looks big on this one.

When you talk about your turbo setup, what HP figures would you have in mind.

I think it's just because they are pushed out farther. Wheel gap is actually less than OEM since the sidewall is a little taller on this tire.

I know I didn't need another picture of a stock FRS/BRZ

I have a set of 18x9.5 ET38 Rota T2Rs and a set of DPT 18x10 ET35 I'll be test fitting. I don't have time this week as I need to prep the STi for the Viper Cup round this weekend in NJ.

These are some old track wheels and most of the original decals are gone. I'm pretty sure they are 46-48 offset, 18x8, 5x100.

Yes engine management is going to be the most critical part of moving this car into stardom. It's time to start cracking on this whip on this and investigating the ECU connectors etc. I just got the car and I don't even know where the ECM is. I need to find this today with what little spare time I have. If you guys know where it is let me know and we'll have a Hydra EMS that much faster ;)
