I know of the ghetto bat method but seeing how small it is I feel like it could literally just be bent upwards once the paint is heated. I have never rolled a fender before. Any insight?
if you read the very first post, i warned about this happening.

all you need to do is get a heat gun and a screw driver that has a rubber end/handle.

heat up that area, take that rubber end and push the lip in slowly, keep it hot, push it in etc etc. very simple to do just takes some carefulness

picking up the rpf1 in sbc soon, was going to get 245/35/18 until I saw this.. how much fender work have you done to get no rub? Or are you still rubbing?

It all depends on how low you want to be. You can be lowered more than an inch with no fender mods. Personally, I have a fairly aggressive roll on the roll with no fender work in the front. The front rubs on hard cornering only, not bad at all though.

This seems like a great thread to ask this question and since Im in the "meaty" club, it should still remain on topic and serve to help others.
@King Tut (since he tends to know this shit pretty well)

Im running 255/35s on Eibach Sportlines with 18x9.5 e38 wheels. Im pretty close to the Spring Perch, but not rubbing on anything.

I would like to Camber my fronts to -1.5 degrees. I asked the tech about this when i had my alignment done and was told that using camber bolts I would tip myself into my spring perch. I was of the understanding that they all moved together so as long as I am not rubbing now, I would not rub if I cambered them. Can someone confirm/deny this for me?

I am considering getting coilovers soon to improve my ride quality some and lower my car more than I currently am, so this may be a moot point, but if I like the camber and drive quality if I use camber bolts then I may just stay with it.

Thanks for the help!

Camber adjustment via adjustable top hat moves the entire strut assembly. Camber adjustment via camber bolts moves the hub / knuckle in relation to the strut.

The tech is correct, if you adjust camber via camber bolts, you will run into clearance issues.

This.

You could always get camber adjustable top hats for your stock strut assembly, but the question remains as to whether or not that would be worth it. Personally, I'd recommend going with a full coilover assembly. BC Racing Extreme Low or Stance coilovers would be a great option if you're on a budget.

I will look into both of these options. Thanks for the help and the confirmation.

Now back to meaty!

These guys covered it. You can always just go with a set of camber plates designed for the OEM diameter springs or run a small spacer if you do run into issues with the camber bolts.
