Unless you're talking about 17" wheels, you need to think a bit harder about those aspect ratios. Why would you actively choose a 235/45/18 when a 235/40/18 is perfect for an 8" wheel and significantly closer to the stock tire diameter? Same question stands for 245/40 and 255/25 (WTF?).

Well, I would go 235/40 and 265/35. They're both very similar in diameter, but they're about .8 inches taller than OEM. That's why I'm leaning towards 225/40 and 255/35. Same OD, only .4 inches taller than OEM.

Its an arbitrary number for an arbitrary term. Doesn't matter.

Lets not forget some 245's are physically wider than some 245's because once again, its arbitrary even for the manufacturers

I'm gonna ask a simple question so hopefully a simple answer without too much rage Widest staggered without any issues on stock struts w/ STI pink (0.6 inch drop) and camber adjustability parts would be ? 235front/255rear ?

You can run 265 square without any issues on stock suspension, so you should be able to go a little bigger than that. If you want to be staggered, I'd go 245/265, maybe even 255/265. 265/265 square will fit on a 18x9.5 with a 38 offset on completely stock suspension. You are lowered a little over an inch, so in the rear your natural camber is going to help tuck the 265 a bit. In the front, the natural camber just isn't there, so you'd have to go a little smaller, so 245 or 255.

I don't think this can be said for any 18x9.5 wheel with 265's. Before I put my coilovers on I just lined up my wheel/tire to see what it'd look like. I couldn't even get the wheel on the studs because it was hitting the stock springs. This is a +40 offset so only 2mm difference from you but it looked like I would have needed much more than that...

yes, i'm sorry it were typos for sure, i HATE tapatalk.

anyways, the things i mentioned i base off of tires looking square on a wheel and having enough sidewall. a 235/40 is decent and yeah its closer to the oem tire size, but i don't think people who go for fitment and go to a meatier tire really care about stock diameter, atleast thats what the assumption is.

i by no means try to be "a guru", just passing on knowledge i soaked up.

i also base what i know from my times with the STi.

for example it came stock with a 8.5" wheel, on it a 245/40 was square. (a 245/35 is too small a sidewall) then take the wrx which has a 7.5" wheel factory and runs a 235/45 which is square.

then bump to a 9.5" wheel and a 265/35 is square and depends on tire brand so is a 255/35.

obviously none of this is taking into account stock diameters but thats what this is for:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

however i was just responding to the question of "what will fill out XX width wheel" so a 225-245 (depending on brand) is good for an 8" and a 255-275 (depending on brand) is good for 9-10"... and so on and so forth. then throw in different brands and etc etc.

hope this clears any mix-up up. just my train of thought here...

Posted my setup a couple weeks ago but finally got my rear lca's and an alignment done. Dropped the car quite a bit more also. Rear fenders rolled, -2° rear and -2.3° front. Front fenders not even rolled and no rubbing so far at all. Full lock still doable. Crazy how big of a difference a good alignment makes. Texas track works in fort worth is awesome if anybody is from dfw. Really nice guys.

Wheels are 18x9.5 +40 enkei nt03's
Tires are continental extreme contact dw 265/35/18.

I'll have time next week to take some good pictures and I'll post them.

Gonna have to step on my own toes a few days later. Rubbed in the front on that little part by the side marker. Random bump through a turn. :/ no damage but I want to take care of it.

Has anybody rolled that tiny part in the front by themselves? I was going to take it somewhere but I have a heat gun and honestly it's so tiny I feel like it could be folded up pretty easily. I know of the ghetto bat method but seeing how small it is I feel like it could literally just be bent upwards once the paint is heated. I have never rolled a fender before. Any insight?
