I would also consider re-wording this part of your 'Tech Info':

http://www.arkperformance.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=13

"First and foremost, we engineer all of our exhaust systems with only the highest grade metal, T304 Stainless Steel."

T304 is not the 'highest grade' stainless steel. It is the most common and readily available that is suitable for exhaust systems.

To maintain accuracy and not mislead customers with incorrect information, I recommend you change that statement to the following:

"First and foremost, we engineer all of our exhaust systems with only the industry standard, T304 Stainless Steel."

Secondly, on your header systems, are the flanges T304 as well as the primary tubes?

Yes. Every part of our exhaust is T304 SS. Our exhaust goes through a quality inspection check at the ARK Performance Korea(manufacturing facility) and when it leaves our Distribution center here in the states. Sadly, T304 is not the standard anymore.

I agree with the talk about 304L stainless. Sure, speaking strictly of it's performance and material properties, it may not be the best, but as far as value and the compromise between cost and quality, it's probably the best choice in material for something like a mid-pipe or catback. It was also mentioned before, but '304L' is definitely not always true 304L and the difference in cost between known/high quality and unknown/low quality material can be substantial. Just good to remember that it's not always apples to apples just because it sounds like it!

Primary issue I have in the 304 talk isn't its suitability (it's acceptable for exhausts with properly sourced steel, properly designed and properly welded). The issue is ARK, on their website and in their posting here, is calling it the BEST stainless steel for exhausts (they make it sound like they exhaustively researched through 150 different types and found 304 to be the best for its mechanical and anti-corrosion properties).

http://www.arkperformance.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=13

This is false.

It misleads the customers.

Not quite as bad as the Agency Power Subaru 321 stainless headers outright lie, but still false information.

I'd stick to my tried and true thoughts on this subject:

For everyday use, a DD, I'd probably go with a "SPT" exhaust on the BRZ. Well made, sound fantastic, and they're not too loud.

If I'd let my usual passion take control of my wallet, then I'd probably buy a Blitz or Greddy-Ti. They're generally louder, mmm... louder.

I would strongly agree Dimman. Whenever i read claims like that it reminds me of "ebay speak." Where it seems people are literally copying other people's ads and claims, creating a gigantic snowball of misinformation.

It is VERY misleading. I'd elaborate, but you already nailed it.

Say, What if GrimmSpeed were working on an exhaust... What would be most important in your opinions? From durability, to size, noise, muffler design, etc?

To all the companies on here that are developing exhausts for the FR-S/BRZ, please don't make something like this. It sounds so hollow and boring, and it's hardly even louder than stock.
