1. The JDM BRZ STI uses the SAME Brembos as the 08+ Impreza STI with the bleeders swapped there are no brake bias issues, no fitment issues every thing is copacetic.
2. This is a super easy swap (~4hr drinking beers, eating pizza) 3. This is a super cheap swap (I got EVERYTHING for <$1,300) 4. IF you can't find 08+ rears, the KNS V 2.0 bracket is MINT! SWAP THE BLEEDERS! a little heat and the come right out. USE any STI front rotors as long as they are drilled 5x100 USE any STI front calipers USE 04-07 STI rear calipers with KNS bracket ($250) USE 08+ rear STI calipers for direct fit USE 08+ rear STI rotors Drilled to 5x100 (to be compatible with e-brake) The Dust shields have to be slightly trimmed to fit your new (larger) rotors. You can get everything except the calipers from KNS Brakes and they guys over there are very familiar with the mod. CALL them if you don't know what you need. They will also make sure your rears rotors are drilled to the right pattern. |

I've just got hold of a pair of GRB STi calipers and from all my research up to now tells me it's a straight forward swap (apart from the bleeder issue). But then I came across this thread and from the OP's magazine pics it shows that they've used some kind of bracket on the front hubs to install the new caliper?
I can't read Japanese so I don't know what it says, but I gather that car had the 277mm front brakes, similar to mine (lower spec AU market 86) as opposed to the 294mm brakes. Could this be the reason why they've used a bracket to mount the new calipers? I didn't think it would be necessary since I figured the steering knuckles and bracket mounting points are the same across both models. Any comments/advice on this? @King Tut @OrbitalEllipses @Racecomp Engineering |

I don't know what that bracket is to be honest. As long as the front calipers are from a 2004 to 2014 STI and the rear calipers are from a 2008 to 2014 STI then they should bolt right on using the STI bolts.

I did somemore searching and the bracket shown in the magazine isn't actually an adaptor to alter the mounting points. Instead it's simply a brace to stiffen up the mounting points.
