Warranty anxiety....

Current setup is just nameless Axel back.

I'm waiting for my nameless header and injen intake to come in. Car has 30k kms on it right now. I kind of want to take my car into the dealership and have them double check everything before I potentially void my warranty.

Car seems to work pretty good, however I do hear the crickets when the car is running and I'm standing outside of it.

Is there anything that I should be concerned about? It's a 2013 and the of service I've had were oil changes so far.

It's better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission.

Unless you are paying for non-warranty, non-scheduled checkups, there's nothing you can do to determine if the car is in need of potential warranty service or not.

Can't treat a disease if you don't have symptoms or even test for any viruses/contagions.

I read, and got antsy about all of the issues the car is known for, mostly thanks to this place. I heard the crickets, and muttered colorful language. Then I went to my first autocross with it, and with plenty of other twins around in varying states of tune and all of them had the crickets, and none of them were concerned about it.

Do the Dr. Strangelove thing. Stop worrying and love the bomb. And btw, doing intake and exhaust shouldn't cause denied claims. They might try to, but that's just your sign that you need a better dealer. And after-warranty, find a local independent that knows what they're doing, and learn the dude's name.

Amen. i do this all the time. talk nicely with tech and explain what your concerns are. if it doesnt work then walk out. also, i never visit stealership unless i have problem with car. if you worry so much, you shouldnt mod it until warranty expires.

Warranty paranoia is valid, but if you put it into perspective it's not a huge deal. If you're willing to invest thousands into performance parts, is it really that big of a problem to pay a few hundred for a repair you can't do yourself, or maybe a couple thousand for something big? Dealerships overcharge for everything, so the value of the warranty is bloated. Finding a good repair shop that you can trust is the key if you want to modify.

Every model car will have some problems here or there, but you gotta realize that a forum like this only represents a portion of the owner base, and only a very small percentage are actually having problems.

Crickets are annoying but the pump will work fine. If you haven't had serious problems yet, then just roll with it and have some cash set aside if you blow a gear or do something big. In the meantime, learn to do more work to the car yourself and most small to medium repairs won't even be an issue.

Also keep in mind that people in general are more vocal when they have an issue - there are never going to be as many "hey guys, just checking in to let you know that everything on my car is working perfectly!" threads as there are "wtf, this stuff is broken" threads - even though there may well be more cars without issues than with.
