I always thought that exhaust was ridiculous. For a car with the engine as mediocre as it is, it's almost a little embarrassing. A single outlet works just fine. A dual outlet system, I can understand that too, they look great. But the quad tips are so dumb, this isn't an F40. These RSs are going to get raced and dusted at every red light

A new special edition every year with a few retrofittable OEM parts and maybe a special color is straight out of the Miata playbook for the last 25 years. It's nothing new, except hearing the bitching and moaning over it on forums.

Don't worry about it! You'll be able to update the parts of an early-year car with the good stuff that comes out, and leave out what you don't like. And look on the bright side, the hunt for used ones in the future is going to be a lot of fun.

Based on past TRD vehicles from Toyota, no probably not. There are ways around it, like trying to use an owners VIN but it's not easy.

I'll just wait for the 11.5 Release Series Monogram Sport to come out to trade my BRZ in for.

They just rebrand it as an RS instead of marketing it as an incomplete TRD.

I just don't see the reason behind it, to keep down the cost? No point, since dealers will mark it up anyways.
Would you be comfortable paying in the 35-40k range for an FRS?

I think it is pretty sexy, but don't feel any envy versus my current car. Like many of you, I wouldn't want a yellow 86 and the rest of the parts I can do myself if I really want them.

Lame. LOVE the quad exhaust, rear valance is a bit rice but still cool. Lowering springs are cool. HATE yellow, and seriously, no new wheels???

the only thing I don't like is that it feels like scion is teasing us . I imagine someone sitting there saying "Oh you want the trd japan lip kit for cheaper don't you... well sucks for you it's release series only state side "

To each their own, I guess. I would prefer something close to Subaru's WRB. As much as I like Ultramarine, it's a little too dark sometimes.
