cool. I wonder if the texas heat would cause any issues with our cars running e85 ( hypothetically of course, because we wouldn't have aftermarket flashes or use unsupported fuel mixes in our cars... amirite?
)

I've actually e-tuned a number of people I just don't talk about it much as my friend got banned on the forums for tuning cars without a vendor account. And as I am not doing it for a source of income at this time I just keep quiet and have offered to help out random individuals when I see issues. Many have seen me post in misc tuning threads just tossing in what I know and trying to just genially give a helping hand. After the car runs I may start tuning more as a LOT of locals have been pestering me for tunes but I simply dont have the time and honestly I make more at my day job than I would if I was tuning full time but its more enjoyable than my day job. Thanks for the kind words @FR-S Matt, I'm glad I could help you out! And just to be clear I offered to help Matt out for free, I never asked for money and he just offered to help me out in return. I know he had problems with a commonly used tuner in the past and I know how he felt and just wanted to help make his week a little better so he could enjoy his car.

so basically everything not .net / basic? Man those languages suck big time. I remember interviewing for a job out here in austin as a microsoft .net consultant and am seriously glad I didn't get into it. right now I'm working a lot with a stats program called R, doubt you've heard of it but maybe. It's bigger in the statistics world. using it for predictive analytics. Pretty interesting stuff, but the R language is syntactically awful. It is a statistician's dream language, but a programmer's nightmare. No variable definitions (well I guess php can be like that.. ), assignment operator is <- , lacks solid OOP foundation. Just can't stand it. it is so far from c, c++, php, java, etc.. sounds like you work for a small(er) company though. As much as I like development I'm moving away from it and more into an analyst role as india and mexico have taken most of our development work away -I edited this post like 5 times for spelling mistakes. I think it's time to go to bed.

e85 actually runs a lot cooler than 93 octane from what I learned. Boosting a car during a Texas summer is a whole another story.

And yup I work for a smaller company. It was VOIP based but now we are primarily a router company directed towards voip companies. We make "Specialty" managed routers, among other products. We have a number of sub companies so I get tossed around on projects a LOT. In a given week I write at least 10 different languages and work on more operating systems than I want to think about. My speciality is reverse engineering & "hacking" code (no not like the movies for those of you that don't code). So ECU stuff was always up my alley in terms of trying to diagnose issues. <3 lamp.

I'm assuming you write your php from scratch? I'm more of a framework guy (laravel / code igniter, etc.) I would probably walk out too if I saw a bunch of homebrew php

Depends on the project. One of our main projects I moved us to symfony. I have also designed a number of frame works (not 5 minute jobs but large code base) in the past. The last company I was at I designed 90+% of their framework they used on a good 100 projects or so. I don't write raw PHP I write a framework and then use it to develop as my projects are too large for quick hacked PHP. And lately I am tired of managing my own code base and started working with other frameworks.
