Question Cluster Problem?

Hey guys, new here so be easy. I bought a 2013 FR-S from Phoenix wrecked. Ive been repairing everything myself (have done this multiple time with other cars) But Im having a problem with the cluster. EVERY light is on, both speedometers just stay at 0, the odometer lights up but doesnt change mileage, the only thing that works is the tach. It does run and drive, but wont go over 4k rpms (Limp mod cause from all the dash lights?) Just wondering if this all would be cluster, ECU, BCM, or what? figured Id ask the forum experts before getting taken at the dealer.

Sounds like the cluster doesn't know the engine is running and it's in "on" position. You must have something disconnected or a wire cut somewhere..
The cluster might be a BCM function., and if the CAN is not communicating
With the other modules you will get this condition. You need to look up CAN diagnostics and get the ECM to give you codes.

There are all sorts of ways to go into limp mode. Check all the fuses. Check if the fuse box has good connections underneath as well. I seem to remember somebody having issues with a damaged box.

Do you have techstream? It should help in diagnosing.

Search the forums for techstream. DL the software and buy a techstream cable. You can find them on Amazon for like 20 bucks or so. It will get you into the ECM and other control modules. It also checks for communication errors within the CAN.
Good info on here about it.

Took it down to scion the other day. They said when they hook up the scanner they get "no signal" they said theyd change the wiring harness for starters, then look into other options. But they think wires from ecu to ecm, bcu are broken. They want 4500 JUST for the harness swap... I said ill pick it up and do it myself. Any ideas where to start on the harness? There are multiple different harnesses and wondering if anyone can send me in the right direction.
