Why do you say that? Weight?

Not trying to scare you. The general population will not agree with my statement saying it's too heavy or too ugly. The real performance benefit comes with a properly designed and manufactured wheel. This means weight is optimized with proper rigidity. All wheels will bend if you do it justice. The way it fails is probably the interesting part of wheel design that takes some time to develop. Everything is always a balance. If you improve weight reduction, you will reduce rigidity/strength, etc. There is always a trade-off.

I don't really think it makes sense to have 1 set of wheels that are DDing and tracking. Maybe if it is only autocross.

Wheels and tires setup for 1000$

I will look at the Toyota dealer for the TRD I think, it's probably the best choice for me without shipping cost.

Heavy wheels don't necessarily mean bad performance; it means it probably won't fail as easily and it may actually improve overall performance. Also, the way it is cast and how tight the quality control is what determines how the wheel can fail and in what modes of failure. For this, I know OEM wheels are tested to ensure those proper failure modes.

Most TRD wheels are outsourced by some manufacturer like Enkei with a massive markup...

Those TRD wheels link on the first page are 18". Tires for 18s are generally more expensive than for 17s. Just to keep in mind.

Suggestion: Run OEM with spacers on RE11A tires. Take off spacers for autocross. Use that extra savings for more autocross, HPDE, gas, and consumables!

Then the best choice is to keep the OEM until you have the budget to get better wheels...

Then, I will keep my oem and bought an good set of tires.

I will probably enjoyed more compare to a cheap set of tires/wheels...

Thanks for all the info David!

Why did you suggest to use spacers? For the look?

Spacers are not safe during autocross?

Yes. That is if you crave the flush look.

Spacers are not a good idea unless you have extended studs for track/autocross use. Low quality spacers may have snapping stud issues or possibly the spacer bonding to the rotor due to dissimilar metals. Obviously where we live, we don't have an issue with that.

If you intend to use spacers, coat the mating surfaces with anti-seize as a corrosion prevention compound to reduce galvanic corrosion rate.

Not completely sure about that. I need to check on that information. Enkei does make a lot of OEM wheels. ~40lbs per each tire+wheel
