+1, I was thinking the same... they blamed the upshift for the bad 0-60 time too.

Exactly, I was looking for the same thing. 101 km/h is nearly 63mph. That makes perfect sense. Subaru isn't that stupid. They know 0-60 mph or 0-100 km/h is the gold standard, regardless of whether the car is designed to accelerate quickly. It's frickin media suicide to gear a car to only reach 59mph.

I don't trust Inside Line in the least, but something is up. It's either different gearing, speedometer calibration error, or Inside Line's test equipment was F'ed.

This car is going to live in second and third on backroads. That's real world practical driving.

Willing to bet inside line's equipment was not working properly.

Speedos are routinely off, but with a 7500 rpm redline to work with, I doubt Toyota/Subaru would cut 2nd short of 60 mph.

Motortrend got 6.4s 0-60 and a 14.9 1/4 mile @ 95.5 mph

If we have to look a numbers....
Lap times are a better metric of how fast the car will be out on the backroads than "0 to whatever" acceleration tests.

For me it's more helpful to have it than to not. When I merge onto the freeway I accelerate up to and stay in 5th to focus on matching the flow of traffic. Then I shift to 6th. But if traffic is really hectic and I have passengers to talk to, sometimes I forget to shift to 6th. It's usually not til there's a quiet moment when I notice the engine noise after cruising at highway speeds in 5th for a good 30 minutes! It's only March and I've done this at least twice this year. Also in city driving I'll rarely forget whether I'm in 3rd vs 5th or 4th vs 6th but it happens when I have other things on my mind and I only find out after I've mis-shifted.

I was just about to say the opposite: a video with no drifting--how refreshing!
