off topic:
Does T-Tap Connector splice the wire (cut wire in half), or does it cut only far enough to get through the wire insulation to reach the wires?

It cuts it enough to just get through the insulation to reach the wiring inside.

What are you looking to tap into?

This is a good way to "access" a wiring path without having to cut/strip/solder factory wiring.

Be careful with vampire taps. If you don't know what you're doing, you could easily cut through the wire you're trying to tap. Make sure you know what size wire you are tapping into and buy the correct T-tap size accordingly.

Actually I have the diode dynamic foglight installed. I was just wondering if the TTap connector cut the wires in half or just cut enough to cut through the insulation. I didn't want the t tap connector to fail and end up with a broken wire that is split in half.
Just to conclude, the t tap connector only cut enough to go through the insulation and not cut the wire in half right?

Correct. When I did remote starters back in the day, that's all we used. The shop still uses them for their installs to this day. They're reliable (as long as crimped down properly). My parents have had their starter in their truck for nearly 10 years now this way and not a single issue.

Cool. I was just worried if weather and vibration will loosen them.
Currently, I have them t tapped to my headlights.

I was thinking putting electrical tape over the TTap connectors.

Electrical tape is messy when taking off, but definitely a good idea for anything that could potentially see any "weather". Heat shrink would be ideal but it's difficult to do on those kinds of "T" connections.

I have fixed multiple issues on cars do to those splices, from poor connection and week signal to corrosion build up and damaged harnesses / broken wires. I always recommend not to use them. but good luck with your project.
