People who are running ST or Bilstein PSS/B14s suspensions

If you are running either ST Suspension Techniques or Bilstein PSS/B14 coilovers, I'd like take a ride in your car. Will gladly pay for gas and buy you a burger, 6 pack (assuming you're over 21 lol) or smoke you out on some fuego.

I'm currently running Stance coilovers, can't say anything really bad about them but it's not as comfortable as I was hoping. I never really minded the ride comfort until I drove to Seattle from Portland. The roads up I5 were very shitty especially when reach Tacoma area (didn't really noticed after years of driving there because I was always in a stock car). Long story short, it was probably the most uncomfortable ride going up there. I liked the stock feel to the car but I had to get rid of the ugly wheel gaps. I understand anytime you go aftermarket in suspensions, it's going to be nowhere as comfy as stock but I'd like to get somewhere closer. I played around with the damping and it got a little better after various setups but still looking for something different.

I thought about going back to stock suspensions with a spring setup but I'm currently running 18x9.5 +48 (225/40) up front and I was told that I would run into clearance issues. After additional reading, I heard Bilstein's PSS/B14 suspension is just as large in diameter as the stock so there might be a clearance issue on that as well. I am dropped about 2 inches and would like to be somewhere in the vicinity of that height. I plan on doing autox once in awhile but it's mostly a DD that I drive to and from school/work.

I would appreciate any additional information on this matter or if anybody is running these suspensions to give me a PM so I can experience them for myself.

If ride comfort and ride height adjust-ability is your top priority, I'd check these guys out:

They are designed to be comfortable + drop. You can't use these on the track or Auto-X, they are soft so you will rub. That's what makes the ride comfortable. These may be better for drag racing.

damn after reading that review I'm more interested in those coils...now it's between those and the fortune auto ones I want the best of both worlds but I want a more track focused coil which would sway me away from the the SBD but from the sound of it the daily drive is amazing with those

Fortune coils are popular with the 240 crowd. And for budget coils. You can't go wrong.

I'm in this market right now as well. I will add both of your recommendations to my research list.

Another buddy of mine told me to look into the KWv1 coils. Anyone got any experience with them?

I'm not super unhappy with the driving characteristics of the Eibach springs, infact, they perform pretty well, but I'm getting old fast and would like to have a better overall ride. On good pavement I have no complaints, but bumps are brutal with the springs.

What coils are all of you guys currently running?

I'm running Koni Yellow shocks and I think they are the same as stock on the softest setting. I'm also on RCE yellow springs which only drop an inch, so no where near what you're looking for. Another thing that would help with ride quality is to get tires that have a thicker sidewall. I'm guessing that's probably not what you're going for either though.

I'm actually running 245/35 in the rear and I actually preferred that all around but was afraid I'd run into clearance issues so I went the safe route. I'll be sure to do some actual measurements and see if I can go 245/35 square next time.

My #1 choice is the KWv3 just not sure I want drop that much coin

I'd like to run 245/40R17 or even 215/50R16 or similar. It's so hard to find 16" wheels in our sizes though!

I've heard that the key to a good handling car has a lot to do with stiff sway bars matched with soft-ish springs.

This will be my route, initially, as I want that stock feeling ride as this my DD and I drive 219 to work, and it's not the smoothest road there is.

I don't want to be wearing a kidney belt to commute.

My favorite car, for looks so far, is that 86 Hiro ride. I like the larger looking tires myself, and know they'll help soften the ride a touch.
