Most subtle pairing of catback with header?
Hey I was wondering if people with different set ups can give their opinion on the sound and DD comfort of their car.
Specifically hoping to hear from those that has one of the following: Perrin Res/Non-Res + UEL: very common, pretty tame set up / kinda annoying Q300 + UEL: more or less similar to perrin Res Zeta Performance + UEL: most interested in this...couldn't find information on this set up. Top speed pro 1 + UEL ISIS + UEL: interested in this one as well Corsa + UEL Each one of these individually is pretty quiet, but add a header and/or OP+FP and things get weird. Which path should lead to a pretty good DD? Thanks!

I'm seriously considering a Corsa catback. Very common among the V8 crowd. Sounds great on throttle, near stock sound at idle and cruise. Zero drone/rasp, compared to the shitty Flowmaster I had on my Z28.
also, free bump cause I wanna know too. |

There are lots of threads on this now as lots of folks after installing headers explore the new found "it's way too loud" issue. The consensus seems to be Q300 is an excellent option. Quality, long resonated mid pipes, Catted front pipes also make world of difference to. Seems the meat of (rasp) comes from no cats.

Most subtle pairing of catback with header?
Subscribed to this thread.
This is what I've been trying to figure out as well. II know it's not on your list but I think the quietest potential setup Ive thought up could be the ft-86 speed factory UEL catted header and the trd exhaust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not nameless header + op/fp + HKS Hipower Spec-L (rasp above 4000)
Not nameless header + op/fp + stock (quieter, rasp above 3800) Not nameless header + op/fp + track pipe (sounds glorious, but soo loud) |

Most subtle pairing of catback with header?
Haven't heard of zeta performance before. But it sounds like I would like their exhaust sound.
Here is that video xlid007 is referring to One of my favorite sounding setup I've heard on the Internet so far. [ame]http://youtu.be/od5cC1x7Ih0[/ame] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have an OFH, Invidia overpipe, Stock front pipe, and q300 catback. Love the tone, volume is almost perfect with the windows down. I actually wouldn't mind it a bit louder. Windows up I can't really hear the exhaust, though it seems the Q300 does a good job of keeping the noise behind the car.

That does sound decent actually. I like that the URL sound isn't obvious. Aside from TRD cat back and OFH wonder what rest of the pieces are?...

I too have the Zeta catback system and I have nothing but good things to say about it as well. I have already ordered my OFH/OFT combo and when it comes in I will be installing the OFH along with the Invidia FP/OP combo. I will post a video to let you all know how it sounds. Hoping it will sound good but not be to overly loud. |

Most subtle pairing of catback with header?
Quote:
That's a good question. It is decent sounding but still not as subtle and smooth as I would want. I think I'm really picky when it comes to that. Ive probably heard 1 too many fart cans Slightly off topic, but I f anyone here is curious, This is what an UEL sounds like on a completely stock system. Sounds very subtle . How about just get a header (pair it with stock cbe), leave everything else stock?
