I currently have a built FA20 engine with a 10.0:1 ratio and run Mobil 1 Full Senthetic 5W-30. Personally, I think she runs pretty good but a little rough on the initial start since the oil is cold (in 40 degree weather). But once she's warmed up and running my oil pressure stays around 20-30 psi. I personally buy mobil 1 since the price is more affordable and is still a reputable oil.

So far no issues but I would like to try the Rotella T-6 at some point too.

I don't know if Mobile 1 is good or bad but I don't buy things for my car "because it's on sale".

That's something my girl does with her "accessories".

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are some things in life that are worth worrying about. Wondering if Mobil 1 is up to the task of lubricating a Subaru boxer motor driven on the street is not the kind of thing you need to loose sleep over. OK, it's not a boutique brand that you have to pay big $ for.

This "Walmart" synthetic is used in a lot of older air cooled 911's (another boxer layout) that go well over 200k miles before needing a rebuild.

Worry about how you are gonna afford retirement. Or putting your kids through college.

Another "Had no issues w/ Mobile1" and I've been using the stuff since first change at 500mi. At 12,000 mi now, with oil and filter changes every 3Kmi. Lots of autocross and track days.

I won't get into why I so severely dislike Mobil 1, but you could buy Castrol for the same price...

Then you MUST try Renewable Lubricant's Inc!

Quote:
Our full-line of proven biobased lubricants gives our customers enhanced vegetable lubricant performance from soy, corn, canola, sunflower and other bio-materials ...

Bio-SynXtra Super High Performance Motor Oil SAE 0W20 is a patented biobased motor oil. It is designed with additional enhancement chemistry to provide optimum performance in newer high output turbocharged and superchargedgasoline engines in passenger cars, vans, sport utility vehicles, and light duty trucks ...

Stabilized HOBS produces a super high Viscosity Index (VI) that is higher than mineral and synthetic base oils (HOBS avg. 220 VI compared to mineral oil and synthetic at avg. 100 to 140VI), providing an exceptionally higher VI with less mechanical and thermal shear, reducing viscosity breakdown. In addition, HOBS provide superior friction reducing properties and have virtually no volatility comparing to mineral and synthetic base oils. Incorporating these high performance benefits provide a more energy conserving formulation that increases fuel economy and reduces emissions.

Outside of using Evan's Olive 1, RLI is one of the best lubricant's that you can buy.

The amount of oil speculation with precisely zero fact to back it up is astounding. Mobil 1 is perfectly fine.
