Oh should have mentioned that . OP, don't use a jack without stands. A good set of 2 only costs 30 bucks. You can also use ramps

It took about an hour to remove my stock exhaust and install my Perrin cat back, including aligning the tips perfectly (takes a couple attempts), if a shop quotes more they're out to lunch.

My local shop does $40 but if you're in there a lot like me they let stuff slide sometimes. I love my local shop.

Like others have said, I think this is a great opportunity for you to wrench on your car. Don't be too worried, exhaust is honestly one of the easiest things to do.
With the money you will spend on the install, you'll find way better returns as far as investing in a set of stands, a floor jack, and a decent set of hand tools. Grab a friend, and scoot under that car! Once you do it once, it'll be a breeze in the future, whether it's working on this car or some other - cars aren't THAT different from each other. Once you understand what's going on with one, others will feel far more familiar. Edit: First time I worked on cars was consecutively on a FA5 and DC5. We did HEADERS on the DC5 with two crappy jackstands, and poor tools. That night we installed a full exhaust, new intake manifold, Hondata K-PRO ECU (did some work via laptop too) - finished up in the morning and went to work. (Age 16 probably)
