JDM 86 Airbag part number confusion
I'm in the process of ordering the 86 airbag from Japan but have found two different types.
I'm using SU003-03410 as the part number. The results are as follows (the number signs represent japanese characters that I can't decipher): ##### ------------------- ##### --------------##### 1 SU003-03410 ------------ 201203-201308 --------- ZN6 2 SU003-03410 ------------ 201308-(nothing) ----- ZN6 - B The first column is obviously the part number. The second column (I'm assuming) is the model year. The third column (I'm assuming) is the trim/style. If my assumptions are correct, I should get the airbag #2 for the model year 201308 and trim/style zn6-b, correct? Or would it not make a difference? Just trying to get the correct info before I spend $600+. Also, sorry for the shitty formatting, couldn't figure out any other way to space it out. |

IIRC...there are two (2) different part#s for the airbags, as follows:
SU003-03410 - Single-stage airbag *will require swapping over the detanotor SU003-03413 - Dual-stage airbag *direct-swap to our FR-S (USDM), since we also use dual-stage **I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but thought I should throw the info out there too. |

JDM 86 Airbag part number confusion
I'm aware of that but there are two different ones for SU003-03410 as well. There's a Japan-spec one and a euro/overseas one as well.
Thanks anyway I guess as long as I'm switching the detonator it shouldn't matter which one I get, right? Last edited by Eg0; 04-01-2014 at 04:48 PM. |

You don't need to swap the detonator if you get SU003-03413, that is the point @DekaMori is trying to make.
Save yourself the trouble and get the dual-stage because they cost the same and look the same anyway. |

Sorry, not sure...probably need to source from outside JP, as item was intended for export models.
@Eg0 - if you're in jp right now, perhaps may want to check out/swing by upgarage to see if they have any laying around and swap your detonator when you get back state-side |

@DekaMori
I wasn't able to find any dual-stage. I'm going to go ahead and order the single stage and swap it out when I'm back. Thanks for your help. |
